Hello Events Committee! I wanted to update you all on the progress we are making as a board and the changes that are coming as a result. Chris Coleman and David Semanco will be taking over as chairs of this committee, and we are combining the Education Committee with this committee since many of our events are educational and require CE work in the background. Traditionally, we have held monthly meetings, which will continue, but I will let Chris and David decide what date and time is best. We are planning to increase our events over the next year, and we hope that you will help us create a full and exciting calendar for our members while also ensuring it can be executed and offered professionally. With VSIAS planning and nearly launched, we look to Mobilize Recovery, Overdose Awareness Day, a training event TBD in November, and the Winter Academy in January as well as March 2026 in Richmond for the Annual Meeting and Training! I will continue to work with you all regularly and am grateful for your commitment to the important volunteer work of this association. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing each of you soon! Hello Events Committee, Thanks for being flexible and remaining engaged in service of VAAP. I wanted to update you that we have a few event sponsors and break sponsors, several people signed up for the event, and all the food and beverage is organized, being provided by Youth For Tomorrow. They will also be providing onsite logistical support. We have the training facilitators secured. We are gonna be all set basically for this event now.We are tracking numbers to ensure that we have the seats filled (but not overbooked!) We will need to make signs for the event with the sponsors logos and thank yous, and maybe a little flyer. Otherwise, we are looking so good! We will do this both days and will have a room set up that they can go and get there food and return to eat. (If you prefer they have a choice we can send you a list of sandwiches that they can choose from? We will also have fruit and salad along with tea/soda/water/coffee. We will have various healthy snacks, muffins, assorted nuts, chips, fruit, granola bars, and other items that they can grab and snack on throughout the training with Coffee and water available throughout the day. We have security at the front of our campus and it would be good to get a final roster for ordering purposes, and to leave their name at our front entrance for security. Once the enter the property the will go to the right and be directed by our staff where to park and how to enter the building and there will also be signs. The Pruitt building lower level is where we will be training and I have copied and pasted a picture below of where individuals will go and there will be staff to help guide them. Let me know if you have any other questions at this point. We are glad that we can host and be a part of this.
