Pictures of my setups over the years
I enjoyed the discussion this week about the radios and thought I could add to it with a visual post.
I know sometimes pictures are worth more than words so... This was my first POTA setup G90, cheap ammo can battery, and a simple laptop. I will add some pictures to show some of my setups over the years. Hope you enjoy! Natalie (W4TEA) and I doing a 2 Radio Setup from the back of the Jeep.? IC-7300 and a G90 We often run multiple stations together so we need lots of antennas. Homemade 6M Hexbeam to complete my 6Pack awards Rainy day activation Another rainy day up on the Blue Ridge Parkway running 3 stations this day. Band Pass Filters we run with multiple stations Upgraded to a VAN - V10 15 Passenger - Pulls my camper like its not even back there. Setup the back as a POTA station.? Diesel parking heater installed for cold day activating. My view from inside the van on one of those cold mornings. Group Activation from K-1319 with W4WDK (Wesley), W4TEA (Natalie), and K4HXM (Me) And my favorite POTA mode - Camping This was Holiday Lake State Park 73 All -? Justin - K4HXM |

开云体育Thanks for posting Justin. ?These setups are inspiring! ? Quick question, what kind/brand of masts do you deploy and how do you like them? 73 Jim? KQ4AVP On Feb 15, 2024, at 9:25?AM, D. Krantz (KO4GNE) <KO4GNE@...> wrote:

Jim,
The only mast that I own is the 22' PNH-22 sold by Ham Radio Outlet.? I think when I bought it it was only $55.? I see now it is $75.? It is only 22' height but has worked great for me.? I typically run a homebrew link dipole 17-20-30-40 or a 10-15-20-40 EFHW on my mast. Some of the pictures show W4WDK and his mast which is much taller.? It is a MFJ ? ? ?? Maybe he will chime in with the part number. I like the PNH-22 as it is very light compared to the MFJ Wesley has. Here is a link to the PNH-22 Here is a picture of how my mast connects on the back of my van.? I welded up the steel brackets from light weight angle and some 3/8" rebar.? I 3D printed the blue inserts to fit the mast.? If I get a bigger mast someday I will just print a new set of inserts to fit it. |
开云体育Justin That looks like a great pole setup. ?I checked it out on HRO. ?I like the fact it has locking pins on the bottom 3 sections to discourage collapse which can happen (based on my experience).? Good setup for the mounts as well. ?Thanks again for sharing. ? Jim On Feb 16, 2024, at 7:40?AM, Justin Colville - K4HXM <ko4hxm@...> wrote:
