Lunenburg Wilsons

Dear groupers,

I'm searching for information about a family of Wilsons who lived in Lunenburg County, VA in the early to mid-1700s. They were closely associated with knots of Separatist Baptists in the area of the Meherrin River, Reedy Creek and Bluestone (which I gather later ended up in Mecklenburg County). There was a meeting house designated as Wilson's meeting house at one point.

The Wilson family I'm related to left Lunenburg County somewhere between 1760 and 1770 to escape religious persecution and would have sold their lands then--most likely to other Separatists. Those land sales are what I'm focused on right now. The given names I'm most interested in are John, William, Thomas, and maybe Solomon. If possible I would like the seller's name, the buyer's name, location of the land and when sold.

Who has access to abstracts of that period? Could he or she do a lookup?

Gratefully,
Margaret Wilson Arthur
