To help get the list started, I thought I would post my areas of interest.

My primary interest is in Wright families of Virginia. Among those are two who connected with Fauquier County, VA.

The first family is that of 1657 Edward Wright of York County, VA, whose great grandson was 1805 William Wright of Fauquier County, VA. I have an incomplete draft on 1657 Edward and his descendants that I will also happily share with other researchers.

The second family is that of John Wright (Westmoreland County, VA, Overseer) and his probable son 1792 John Wright of Fauquier County, VA. I have a very incomplete draft of what has been found on John the Overseer. His family included his son Charles Wright and Charles Wright's son 1760 Joseph Wright of Fauquier County, VA, as well as his probable son 1792 John Wright of Fauquier County, VA, and 1792 John's sons 1809 William Wright of Franklin County, VA, 1789 John Wright of Surry County, NC, and 1812 James Wright of Fauquier County, VA.

As part of this research effort, I have put together lists of Wright documents in Fauquier County, VA, including marriages, deeds, personal property tax lists, land tax lists, and probates with identifications of the Wright involved in each document, to the extent identified. These are also works in progress, but I will happily share these drafts with other interested researchers.

Joseph Wright of Fauquier County, VA. She married Thomas Jackman.I am
researching the Wright, Jackman, Porter families of Fauquier County. I

Hello Robert,

Thank you for getting the discussion going. So far I have not found any direct family members in Fauquier County. However, I, along with others, have done extensive research on the Thomas and Elizabeth Taliaferro Stribling family from Prince William County, Virginia. One of their sons, Taliaferro, had a son Thomas whose son Thomas Mackey Stribling who was born in Clarke Co., Virginia and died in Mountain View, Fauquier Co., VA. He married Carolyn Matilda Clarkson. They are buried in the Leeds Episcopal Church Cemetery, Markham, Fauquier Co., VA as are some of their descendants.

They are very distant cousins of mine, as proven by the results of a DNA test. Because of this connection, I hope members of the Stribling list join the Fauquier list also, and if anyone currently a member of this list joins the Stribling list.
