Soft Face Hammers and Replacement Face Pads + Other Machinist' Parts/Tools

I also found out the Craftsman hammer was/is made by Vaughan Tool, model SF6. There is also a 12 ounce hammer SF12. They have the parts dirt cheap!. $2.36 each for the 1" diameter pads for the SF6.. These are typically hard to find at a good price. They also offer a mini-soft face hammer P/N 1-397-655 (7-1/4" long) w/6 different face pads included. for $5.77. OldToolmaker All Messages By This Member #63040 I have made my own soft face hammer faces to fit my “Dead Blow” hammers and they work great. When I was in Trade School back in the sixties I built an injection mold to produce these soft face hammer tips. Food for thought!
