New or pre-used

I'm looking to restore my SL, but need a motor.?
?
PJToolmakers comes up top in a web search for new motors, but everything on their site shows out of stock, the same as three years ago when I emailed to go on their waiting list.? No reply to contact form, can't find a phone no or business address.
?
Is PJT the only UK source for new motors?? Are they UK?
?
There are motors on eBay, but what am I getting into with pre-used?!
?
Observations welcome. John

Unless you are going for a frozen-in-time completely accurate restoration I¡¯d use a 24v (most likely scooter) motor. You¡¯d need a transformer / speed controller as well but the motors are quiet, powerful enough and don¡¯t have a duty cycle.
?
They¡¯re readily available (ebay for instance), and there are lots of posts on this forum about them. I used a 150W one - it¡¯s great!

Hi Peter,

That looks like a great steer, as for me restore means get back in service.? I'll search out the 24v options.

Many thanks, John
