It is a drill press.? Quite a few styles have the same basic arrangement for powering it.? You see a little base for it, and also a two step pulley (it looks ike to me) at the bottom left. The two-step pulling is mounted to a motor mounted horizontally behind the drill press.? A very long round cross section (typically) belt goes from the motor pulley, up over the pulleys you see at the top right, and then to the two-step pulley at the top of the spindle.? So you get two speeds. What is interesting about this one is the linkage scheme to raise and lower the spindle. Charles E. "Chuck" Kinzer
