I will admit to trying run-of-the-mill N scale about 25 years ago. I haven¡¯t touched it since - frustration level was high! I like one line in the link: ¡° It is definitely the scale for the man

Re: Locomotive building?
Hello, Peter!
For me, it is the challenge of producing an item in miniature. It requires good eyes and steady hands. Lately I have been hand carving tiny work boots ?in basswood. They are ?one

That 2mm stuff is great. No wonder folks are looking at magnifying glasses though!
I wonder what it is that makes things in miniature so appealing to humans? The Unimats themselves being an

Re: power supply 24V
Carlo
A 200 W power supply will give you 8.3 A, which is more than enough for a 150 W motor.
Not sure where you are in the world but on UK Ebay there is item 235951751455 - from Germany. It is 240

Re: Yoctosun Magnifier
I agree, the Optivisor and the Yoctosun are different beasts. The Yoctosun

I have both and the Optivisor is easier in use. Anyone

Re: Yoctosun Magnifier
Hello, John
The Optivisor and the Yoctosun magnifier are two distinctly different products. While they perform similar functions, Where they are made is not relevant to this discussion.

Re: Yoctosun Magnifier
Even the Donegan optivisor can be bought cheap.
They sell two versions: one for hobbyists that costs under 50 bucks and one for "medical" that clocks in at $400.
I could not see any difference

Re: Yoctosun Magnifier
I am in the US.? Here is why Trump cannot make America great.? Optivisor is US.? Yoctosun is China.? Many will buy the Chinese product because it is cheap.? I will spend more for USA workers.?

Re: Yoctosun Magnifier
I bought the same from a UK supplier on eBay. It seems ok to me, and I wondered what you get for paying five times more for a real Optivizor. This model feels cheap, but it seems to do its job.

I purchased this from eBay and I am very satisfied with it. I don't like the ones with a light on the forehead. They are too bright for me.

Yoctosun Magnifier
I just purchased a new Yoctosun Magnifier. It has interchangeable lenses and I wear them like glasses. Light weight and easy to wear.

Took longer than I thought it would, but I've found a couple more books that I have duplicates of. Should be of use to both of you. Need to tape the envelope closed, then will drop it at the post
