I think Keith might mean to put a thread up through the piece and (as these earlier Unimats have a sliding quill in the headstock) use a bolt in the fixed tailstock to rotate the headstock forward in

You could use the Mert Method with an M10 (¡Á 1.5) bolt as a guide.

Sounds good. How are you planning to cut the thread on your holder? I think it might be M40 x 1.5, pretty chunky! As John said, it would be great to see some photos of the work in progress.
