Re: What are these?
Can anyone identify these? There are 4 of them, the larger one with "teeth" is numbered 1-5. Thanks, Larry

Re: What are these?
Hi: They could be sorting gages, each step is a different size for matching graded parts. The other option is the could be used as mandrels between centers for certain parts. Carl.

Re: What are these?
I strongly suspect these are a form of "go - no go" plug gauges.? I suspect the various diameter features are a series of slightly different diameters. Used for inspecting parts.? The knurled

What are these?
These came along with my lathe, It came with a lot tooling that looks like they were for a bigger machine and these might not been used with the Unimat. If I were guess, I would guess gauges of some

Re: Unimat 3 Vertical Milling Attachment; Pinion
Sorry, I was thinking of my old SL and didn't notice it was for the U3. Maybe more accurate dimensions will be required for that. Even so, a lot of it could be improvised according to what you want to

Re: Unimat 3 Vertical Milling Attachment; Pinion
Thank you Keith, Peter_B and Peter_N. This is very helpful and I should be able to fabricate one of these per the need. Cheers, Timothy Jump

Re: Edelstall cutting tool system
When hand grinding HSS tool bits keep a small container of water or water soluble coolant to dip the warm tool bit into. A HSS tool bit should not be allowed to get overheated. HSS ?has red hardness,

Re: Unimat 3 Vertical Milling Attachment; Pinion
The 'handle' is held in place by a grub screw at the end of the pinion, I wouldn't glue it if you ever want to be able to use the U3 Fine Feed Attachment (EMCO part number 151.110).

Re: Unimat 3 Vertical Milling Attachment; Pinion
Sorry for my first replay, I misunderstood Timothy. Here is the dimension of my part, as it should be called in English, and a photo of it. Peter Nyffeler

Re: Edelstall cutting tool system
It was made for a 5 inch lathe, it fits a 1/2 inch collet.

Re: Unimat 3 Vertical Milling Attachment; Pinion
If you don't worry about making a replica of the original Unimat one, and their construction did vary, you can do it all without dimensions apart from knowing that the main shaft is 12mm diameter,

Re: Unimat 3 Vertical Milling Attachment; Pinion
Thank you Keith for getting me the spline specs. What I still need are length dimensions. I've attached a rough drawing of the Unimat 3 vertical milling attachment pinion with the length dimensions

It is a bit different. I was just trying to help, OK.

Re: Edelstall cutting tool system
When you start grinding your tool bits... and an ordinary bench grinder works well... for HSS...? I would have to look at the wheel to tell you what is on it... Bill in OKC, is correct, wearing

I posted a PDF of my? instruction sheet for the Edelstaal Cutting Tools on June 10.?? It might be a good idea to check that before posting another one.

I think grinding your own High Speed Steel Toolbits is very important skill.? I am still learning about degrees of rake, recently purchased the OneWay systems for pen lathe and normal size lathe

Re: Unimat 3 Vertical Milling Attachment; Pinion
If you¡¯re going to use the fine feed attachment on the U3 milling head you will need to be able to fit the additional small cog (part of the fine feed adjustment) onto the lever. The cog is held
