Re: Convertidor

My question is specifically which Ebay Seller provided these adapters that do not wobble.
Now maybe everything is made in one Chinese factory.? But I would not want to be the person who buys this, it wobbles, and then I find that I did not get it from the same Seller.

Re: Convertidor

Good evening,

I have tried several of the type of adaptors mentioned earlier but struggled with the manufacturing accuracy of them, they wobbled.
The extra length also caused problems.?

I stumbled on the item below by accident on EBAY, sorry I don't know how to post a link.
It's a 10mm long tube of brass with M14X1.0 on the outside and M12X1.0 on the inside.
They are very reasonably priced at around ?6 GBP for 5 units.

5pcs M14 to M12 Sleeve Reducing Nut 10mm Long Hollow Tube Adapter Brass Coupler

I use them on my SL to mount a U3 3-jaw chuck and also a collet chuck without any problems.

Regards,
David

Sorry just saw your 2 messages
Get ready to do some sanding

Re: Machining 3d prints

I found the model.?

Re: Machining 3d prints

Mike, I sure wish I had that a few years ago. If you have a link for it, I may print it for my son. I gave him my full size machines. That jig could come in handy for him someday.?

Re: Machining 3d prints

Nice job.
Here is my end mill sharpener jig esun pla+ . I got it from Thingieverse a lot of sanding to fit it together?

Re: Machining 3d prints

I've heard that through every step of my broader "maker" journey, someone always insists that you "need" a better (more expensive) tool than the one you have.?

Thank you for those links, I might get that printing this week.? I really like the idea of it.

If you're unhappy with that tap holder/extension that is always a good excuse to make exactly what you want later haha

Re: Machining 3d prints

Thanks Rick. Overall I have been very pleased with my Anycubic printers. I have a Kobra and Kobra Neo. I have had others comment that I should get ¡®better¡¯ printers. IMO, these are perfect for what I need. The quality is there if the operator does his part.?

This is the ¡®tapping Arm¡¯ I picked. It was chosen because it is simple and strong. I¡¯m stealing the ¡®head¡¯ of it for my multi purpose machine project.?

this is the tap handle I got. I wish the extension was removable, but it will probably be put into the holder and left there anyway.?

Re: Machining 3d prints

Those are some fine looking prints.? I'm really curious about that tap guide now too, that's genius

Re: Files uploaded

Lucky man. Worked and got paid for making models. ¡®Wow¡¯

That is a nice little machine. I¡¯ve always wanted one but started looking too late, they got spendy quick. Keep us posted on projects please.?

Re: Machining 3d prints

Don, I didn¡¯t radius the edges, but will do that, thanks for the tip.?

The PLA+ seems greasy and not prone to sticking together.?

This thing is done for now so I guess I will see if it is good for anything. As suggested, an angle adjustment would be nice, but IMO not necessary. I have an adjustable protractor at the machine all the time, so I think that will be adequate.?

Today I installed the brass inserts. Related to that I am building a ¡®universal machine¡¯ that will handle setting inserts, serve as a tapping guide, be a small light duty drill press and possibly a light duty bearing press. I¡¯m remixing some models I found and designing the accessories for the various functions.?

In that vein, I finished my tapping guide today. It also needed inserts so the two projects came together.?

Here is the ¡®compound¡¯ and the tapping guide. I made the gib from a bit of a broken plastic box, the material seems to be polyethylene. The functions work well.?

I did install screws from the bottom side (countersunk) to reinforce the dovetails.?

And here are a couple of pics of the thing sitting on the unimat for scale and to visualize how it may work. I am working on a version with quick change mounts too.?
