Unimat 4 cross slide screw
Hello, Does anyone know where I might be able to source a new cross slide screw for a Unimat 4? The one we have has worn too much to be functional.  I’m based in the UK but any options will be considered with international shipping! I have been keeping an eye on eBay but haven’t seen anything so far. Thanks in advance, Beck

If you
know anyone in the EU, have Jan ship to them. Then work out
shipping / customs with them. The jaws would fit in a small
padded envelope.
I did
this for a friend in France. It worked out to two pallet loads
of toy trains.

You might also want to explore the emcounimat.nl site, a new UNIMAT SL 3 jaw chuck sells there for �78 - not sure about freight cost to US but rather than just 3 jaws, this will get you a complete new chuck.

Andrey, a standard spray can ( that rattles)? of Rustoleum is 12 oz.
I can see if they can put the paint in a smaller can.? I can't imagine that it takes a lot of spray paint for a unimat.

Pre C-19, if my memory is intact, I went to my local store and they indicated they would custom mix the color for me.? I have a pretty pristine unimat SL, and I'm pretty sure they will put it a spray can for me, and they may even give me a hammered finish.? But to be on the safe side, I purchased a clear can of Rustoleum?? hammered paint.? So, I don't know how to ship out of the country in spray can, so all of you that are in international countries, it is my understanding that shipping something less then 16 oz is stupidly expensive, so forgive my unwillingness to attempt to ship out of the country.??
I can go back to Sherwin Williams and ask again.? Who wants a small can of custom colored Unimat green with hammered paint in a spray can?? I won't upcharge, only actual charge for paint, with posted copy of the invoice and actual shipping.? You pay before I ship.? I have 3 locations in my neighboring city, surely one of them will mix this for us.? Glad to hear that you liked the emcounimat.nl site, Nic. One more option is to search marktplaats.nl for unimats - currently there are at least 1 SL, an Unimat 3, Unimat 5 and even an unimat 8 if I'm not mistaken. Many at quite reasonable prices.

As soon as the wind drops a bit outside, I try brazing. Having the other chuck I will use this one for less stressful applications.

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply.? I'm just going to be turning small components, not clock making, so as you say I probably don't need to worry too much :-)
The query was also really about how I can decide which set to keep and which to sell (which is the better in other words). Maybe they will be just the same, in which case it would be down to cosmetics.
I forgot to mention that I'll be fitting 24v variable speed motors, so the existing morors don't come into it.

it would seem that the jaws are hardened, so the act of brazing would soften them, so you might be able to soften them and drill tap and insert screws to replace the tooth, then file the tooth to shape and then reharden the jaw.
