I can't help you with the English version but the same publication was also issued in German and in Dutch (see cover page attached); there may be versions in other languages as well, I only have the German and the Dutch versions.
?
If anyone would care for the German version I'd be happy to upload my copy (just a bunch of 26 individual scans of the 52 page booklet) onto the? files section.

Re: "Basic Technical Information" U3 book?
I've looked through the PDFs I have found over the years - I think they are all in the Files section - and I don't see it. Looking through some old pictures there is a not much clearer image of it which reveals it was an EMCO publication, so I would assume it is much the same as the various instruction books/booklets they released over the years. The biggest of those has an overall description of the lathe, and some basics on how to use it, and similar instructions for various accessories. Then it has parts lists for everything, and the diagrams show how they all fit together. I think the one you are looking for is the same thing, maybe without the parts lists, in a fancy cover. It's definitely a lot thinner than the usual instruction book.
?
I don't say give up looking, but the various publications you can find in the Files should give you a pretty good guide to the Unimat 3, along with other small lathes. I suspect this extra one will not add to the sum total of your knowledge. |
"Basic Technical Information" U3 book?
Does anyone have a copy of the book "Basic Technical Information and Practical Applications of the Unimat 3"? I saw it in the "HobbyProducts_(NeilsCompressed).pdf" catalog from the files section, but can't find much at all about it online. It seems to have only been mentioned once in this group. If anyone has a PDF I'd be grateful. Or if you have a physical copy, I'd be interested in helping you get it scanned. Thanks! Joel |
Re: Someone using U3 threading attachment?
I know how to use the original attachment. It is not the problem. I just wonder if it is worth spending money to make the attachment complete, I'm missing some parts. Therefore, I ask again, is there someone who use the original threading attachment for U3? And....is it a good solution for treadcutting in U3? |
Re: Someone using U3 threading attachment?
I use? ine a fair bit, you have to hand crank it, but otherwise it? isn't difficult to? use,? just set up for the thread? pitch? you? want,? and crank away . There is à drawing I made of all the parts on the files section of the? u3 group. The gears are plastic so could be? 3d ptinted Sent from From:[email protected] <[email protected]> on behalf of mikaelvberger via groups.io <mikaelvberger@...> Sent:?Friday, April 11, 2025 10:18:56 pm To:[email protected] <[email protected]> Subject:?[Unimat] Someone using U3 threading attachment? Re: Someone using U3 threading attachment?
Check the Files section here for instructions on how to use the various accessories. There should be diagrams of photographs of the various parts. On Fri., Apr. 11, 2025, 2:18 p.m. mikaelvberger via , <mikaelvberger=[email protected]> wrote:

I was watching a BBC art program, and found someone at the Courthauld Institute in London examining a large painting.? Note the Optivisor.? If good enough for them, then should be OK for us.

Re: ER32 Collet Chuck
Go?to /sendloginlink - apparently you will be emailed a link that is valid for 30 minutes.
?
Once you are in on the website you can change your password for a new one (in 'Settings' presumably).
?
Of course this depends on you remembering the email address that you registered with, and still having access to it. |

Hi Dick, I'm having trouble accessing my free groups.io account. Could you advise on how to recover it? Thanks, [User's Name] old toolmaker On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, 10:58 AM, John Entwistle via groups.io <jentwistle3@...> wrote:

Re: SL motor heats up and..
Thanks everyone for your replies and helpful advice. I have purchased a 24 V DC motor, 150w and 4000rpm, as well as a 10A power supply and vsc. I will adapt Keith’s drawings (thanks for sharing those!) to build a mounting bracket and spindle adaptor. I hope I have some spare time during Easter for this.
