Re: Annual $220 Group fee.

Hi Tamra

What you have said saves me checking through all messages from last year to establish if contributions had been made to cover the annual fee,
however we must agree to donate if needed to cover the cost again as Martin is not not responsible for funding our hobby group.

As said before let's all be patient and wait for Martins update.

Marcus

Re: Annual $220 Group fee.

I am more than happy to donate, please let me know how and how much... Bill

Hello all members

I wish to advise you that the annual $220 group fee has been paid by Martin.

I have emailed Martin to enquire if he funded this personally or were there sufficient funds over from any previous appeal,
I await his reply but we can't expect Martin to fund members benefits so I may be requesting donations to cover the annual fees.

This is the 3rd year Martin has paid the fee and I am not aware of any appeal to members last year to help fund the cost so?
this may be the second year Martin has stood the cost, that cannot be allowed to continue, it's not what members expect.

Do nothing until the facts are known.

Re: Annual $220 Group fee.

Hi Barrie

If that is the V10 Group then it could be due to the number of members listed, less than 1000 v 3000, or size of file/photo storage also has a bearing on cost.

If it is due to numbers and we need to reduce numbers then it will mean going through the members list to delete those bouncing accounts and others who have
not posted since joining if we are on a budget,?fortunately that does not seem to be the case.

The other groups I own are presently hosted without charge as they were not transferred from Yahoo also because the membership numbers are low and the
File/Photo storage is well within limits set by iO.

Hi Barry,

the $110 fee could be a grandfathered fee depending on the level and when the group was first created.

Our stitching group is still running on? a free basis. We have a lot of members in the Unimat group, not everyone is active
and it is not known if the owners attempted to maintenance and weed through the membership list.... I would happily continue
to contribute?to have friendly help to this community though as long as I can still use my lathe - dexterity, eyes and marbles must
continue to work together...

From Eugene,? <I'm superannuated and have never used my SL/DB (being too ignorant of its operation), but I've thoroughly enjoyed the commentaries from those of you who have mastered the little lathe.>

Hi Eugene, I was a beginner not so long ago... my unimat was my 2nd lathe in 2014? after my husband purchased a Variable Speed Jet Mini woodworking lathe for me in 2010. and... with humor, I had to go look superannuated... our unimats? are not new technology... I think these lathes were sold long before I was hatched on planet earth and I do have 2 grandsons... so I'm not that young!?

What do you want to make with your Unimat?? It is a super fun piece of equipment.??

Members of the group voluntarily sent? Martin funds in 2019 and 2020...

Re: Annual $220 Group fee.

Hi Eugene

That's a very generous offer to make but best hold on until we hear back from Martin as to how the payments he has made have been funded.

I hope he will reply in the next day or so, but I believe he sometimes is away for a few days so we have to be patient.

Re: Annual $220 Group fee.

If the annual fee has not yet been paid, I would like to pick up the tab.

If the annual fee has been paid so as to render us current, I'd like to reimburse the person who paid the fee. ?I'm superannuated and have never used my SL/DB (being too ignorant of its operation), but I've thoroughly enjoyed the commentaries from those of you who have mastered the little lathe.

Thank you.

Re: I think I might be in!

Good to see you made it! I'm pleased my pestering has paid off, but it turned out to be just a matter of getting through to the right person, and that was done by others.

Now that the problem is known we'll see what the Administrators can do to keep things running smoothly in future. I'm sure Marcus is working on it.

Re: How to contact Group Owner?

Hi Frederico

You were approved for membership back in July which is the reason you were able to post pictures in the Photo section.

Looking forward to your input to the Group.

Marcus

Re: I think I might be in!

Hi Ian

You have been a member since?16/09/09 with your current email address, before that time you were a member using a different email address from
which you have never posted as it is still set to Moderate all messages.
To save future confusion it may be a good idea for you to delete that old account.

Now you are in the community we look forward to your input.

Marcus

I think I might be in!

Hello, Ian here. I was the one who wrote to Keith (thank you so much, Keith) as a desperate attempt to be able to post on here.

And also a huge thanks to all the others who contributed to help to resolve the issues and, of course, to Marcus.

Having received a message directly from Marcus to join again, I found that the entry page recognised my email address so I just changed my password and I may be in.

Ian

Re: How to contact Group Owner?

Hello I subscribed the group about one year ago but??I was unable to joint the discussion for this problem. I hope now to be part of the community.
Best, Federico.?

Re: How to contact Group Owner?

Hi Neil

No he is not an owner or moderator.

Marcus

Re: How to contact Group Owner?

BTW, I thought?birkyguy AT . was the owner but his email is bouncing too.

FWIW

I run a few (very quiet) groups here so you can add me as a backup too for worst case scenarios if you wish?

Hello again to all members

There are no posts awaiting moderation so if you have applied to join and have not been added to the group if you apply again I will as Joint Owner moderate your message.

I am owner of several iO groups and check in at least twice a day to view my groups, I had noticed on several occasions messages were awaiting moderation on this group but
that is true for any fairly active group whose membership is growing so didn't look in.
Since I appointed Martin as co-owner I have had my messages from this group set to Special Notices only so had not been aware of any problem, I will change my settings
to receive all messages for the immediate future.

It is only fair to await Martins reply before taking any other action such as appointing Moderators or Joint Owners, however that may have to be considered as I don't want to be
fully active on this group for health reasons.
