Hi John, Since I have never posted a picture of the Unimat motor I have for sale, your comment is out of line, false and disparaging. Also, the motor I have is a U90 and “not” a 290 as you state.

Depends on how deep the hole is. If you can run the tap all the way down, you don't need a bottoming tap for a through hole. If your tap is too short, you might. You can certainly make a bottoming tap
