Hello, I am new to this group, and I have a problem trying to use the Temma V2 ASCOM Telescope driver by Chuck Faranda to drive my NJP Temma 2 from Stellarium. The Instructions indicate that the driver is set up for the northern hemisphere and I live in the southern hemisphere (NZ). My question is: Has anyone in the southern hemisphere managed to use this driver with the Temma 2 goto system, and if so, how did you modify the settings to accomplish this? Even better, has anyone done this with Stellarium? I would be most appreciative for any guidance! Larry

Does anyone know the specifications of the Temma II motors on the NJP mount? Make, model number, gearing, etc.?

For when I am not doing imaging, I am looking for an alt azimuth for my FSQ-106. Any first or second hand experience will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jim

Hi, I want to acquire a focal reducer (the "opposite" of a Barlow) for my TOA-150. Something in the range of 0.33x or 0.5x. Can anyone recommend one of good quality? Any hint is appreciated. Best regards, Niels

Dear All, from the ASCOM website there is a link to download the Temma driver from Takahashi America, but the link does not lead to the download file. Do you know why? Is it the end of ASCOM driver for Takahashi mounts? Thanks Nicola

Greetings, I’m new to the group and own a FCT-125. I purchased it from Zen, found that it had fungus throughout and through TNR sent it back to the factory to be refurbished, now it is as good as new! Anyway I set it up a couple weeks ago and viewed the moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Pleiades, and it performs really well. I don’t have a flattener or reducer for it, if anyone has an idea of what would work with it can you let me know? I’d like to try some imaging with it, and a friend wants to try a medium format film camera with his Hasselblad if I can find the original flattener.

Hello All, I use a Temma EM-200 with ASCOM driver. I got this error message: C++ assertion "m_count == -1 || m_count == -2" failed at ..\..\src\msw\textctrl.cpp(284) in UpdatesCountFilter::UpdatesCountFilter(): wrong initial m_updatesCount value After the error occurs, the phd2 client also stops saying that pulse guide have problems. It is with tremendous sadness that I share the news that Fred Garcia of Land, Sea, and Sky passed away this morning. If you purchased a Takahashi telescope from Land, Sea and Sky in the past few decades, there's a good chance that Fred inspected your scope before it was shipped to you. Fred and I became friends about 25 years ago and he was such a wealth of knowledge and a good friend. I'm going to miss our conversations. Rest in peace, Fred. You will be missed. Nick

Can the older FS102/FS128 reducer work with the TSA-102?

Hello All, I own an EM200 Temma2 and I am noticing a sort of AR drifting after a goto. This drifting stops after a while but it is annoying and only doing a platesolve and sync many times I get to the desired point. Do you folks have the same issue? Many thanks Nicola

Good afternoon from the UK. My name is Paul, and I have a EM200 Temma 2Z. I also have a TSA 120. Both of these fine instruments belonged to a friend of mine who died in March. And he very kindly left this to me in his will. I am looking for Telescope Tracer 2000 planetarium software to use on my laptop. But unfortunately. I can't find it on the web. Does anybody here know where I can get a copy, please? Thank you.

I purchased the mount a few years ago in very good cosmetic condition and used it for imaging for a while, controlled by ASIAir or SkySafari Pro. The mount operated reasonably well but its movements were quite stiff, not silky smooth. A revision/lubrication was called for and I shipped it to DarkFrameOptics in the UK for a complete overhaul. Over one year later I received the mount back and the movements are now smooth but I have problems controlling it indoors, before I take it outside for a real test as the weather has been rainy for months. I first did a reasonable polar alignment indoors with an inclinometer and compass. I then pointed the mount manually to a star in East at about 30deg. I turned the mount on, connected SkySafari to it via WiFi to the ASIAir and aligned the mount with SkySafari to a plausible star on East. The ASIAir is connected to the mount by a USB cable. I then tried to do a GOTO on SkySafari to a nearby star and the mount executed a completely silly movement, always going into a region below the horizon and not stopping anywhere near the specified target star. I have to stop the GOTO manually. Any other GOTO that I tried caused similar behaviours. Note: The problem remains unchanged if I connect the PC directly to the mount with the same USB cable. What may be happening? Any ideas? Thank you and best regards! Jose

Hello All, into my dome I've got a flat panel which is mounted "below the horizon". Do you know if there's a way to move the scope or set the park position below the horizon temporarily forcing the safety limits without actually manually disabling the limits on the ASCOM Temma driver themselves? Hello All, I tried to figure out the calculations for the right parameters to have a custom guiding rate for chasing the comets, but despite there is a description in the driver manual, the results (or my interpretation of the calculations) were not good. Does anybody have a good description on what are the steps to calculate, together with the correct measurement units used (another point I might have failed)? At Astrobin, I cannot find "Takahashi TOA-150" but only "Takahashi TOA-150B". What is the difference? I have the first one. Best regards, Niels
