WXBOT

Greetings, Group.

In the past, I have used UI-View to get weather reports via the Messages portion of the program.

Normally, I would go to the Mine tab under Messages, enter WXBOT in the "To" box, enter a zip code in the "Text" box, say 06357, hit Enter and get a response.

Lately, no response. Messages will keep trying until I clear the entry.

Any ideas??

I operate on 144.390 MHz here locally.

Thanks and 73,

You don't appear to be hitting any I-gates or even on APRS-IS since the first of November:

You will have to either be connected to APRS-IS or in range of a properly configured 2-way I-gate to get such responses.

WXBOT can be down or quirky a times, but seems to be working okay.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the reply.

In the years that I have had UI-View, I have changed a couple of computers
that run it and I have a list of settings to make sure it is set to what it
should be.

The nearest IGATE to me is W1OEM on the north side of town and it reported
at 10:35am.

If you have any info I can use to check things out, change items or
troubleshoot, I would appreciate it.

73,

Phil N1BOW

Phil,

I see you showing as N1BOW-1. I initially looked at N1BOW, sorry about that.

N1BOW-1 looks to be getting into APRS-IS via both RF and internet:

Looking through the raw logs back to the 2nd and the last 14 days I see no message traffic on either RF or the internet.from N1BOW-1.

I just sent you a test msg and got an ack back. So I can only assume something on your end is preventing any outbound messages? You might try again and take a screencap of your messages screen if you don't get a response. Maybe there is a syntax, typo, or port # issue at play here.
