Ui-View Updates..
"Mark - M1AJG" <[email protected]
Hello all,
Many thanks for the latest update of UI-View Roger...It`s proving extremely popular around the West Yorkshire area with many stations using the software or modifying their beacons to contain their locations.. Just a quick question to you Roger, Is it possible to keep a list of RX`ed stations so that when a newer release of your software is installed the stations received earlier can be re-called...I had a nice map going till I installed the 0.73b release and no matter which files I choose not to overwrite, I can`t get the original stations back.. Dunno if the above makes much sense :-) 73 all de Mark (M1AJG) |

How about using the logging system in UI-View?

Go to the 'Log' drop down and start a log. Only thing is to remember to restart it every time you reload UI-View. Using a log file is also useful for those mobiles that zip around the screen. So that you can replay it later. I have one of G7PAF driving around Leeds now. BTW - Thanks for the program Roger, it's providing hours of interest and experiment here at least. :-) I've been asked by a station in the US if it will be released for general availability soon? Cheers de Dave (G0DJA) Just a quick question to you Roger, Is it possible to keep a list of RX`ed |

<dave.g0dja@...> writes [snip] The main problem is support. I have no idea what suitable maps are available in other countries, and I know that I would be inundated with questions from overseas users. It's very easy with something like this to reach a point where all the time you have available to spend on it is actually spent on support, and so development of the program grinds to a halt. Also, at the moment in the USA, controversy has finally erupted over WB4APR's attempts to restrict the writing of APRS compatible software. (I'm amazed that he managed to keep the lid on it for so many years!) Therefore I certainly wouldn't want anyone over there to start using UI-View, in case it got involved in the argument. -- Roger Barker, G4IDE roger@... Boston, UK |
