Precision Mapping Registration

Howdy;
I installed Precision Mapping and Streets v9 per directions listed by WA8LMF. All went well until I needed to use the "RegisterMyApp" link mentioned and all I get is an "HTTP Error 503.The service is unavailable. Tried directly, same response. Any links that may go to Undertow Software do the same.
Did Undertow suddenly go away? Is there a fix to get around this?

Suggestions?
Thanks

It looks as through what we have been dreading for years (the final death of
Precision Mapping) may have finally happened. However, it's not really a problem.

1) If all you want to do is use Precision Mapping with UIview (i.e. not
stand-alone), you DO NOT need to register Precision Mapping 9 at all! Just
install Precision Mapping 9, run it once, ignore the prompt to register, and
exit. UIview and and the Precision Mapping 9 Server plugin will now work
completely normally.

2) I have discovered that there is a way to fool Precision Mapping into
thinking it's been registered, without doing so.

It is possible to effectively activate Precision Mapping without going on
line. Copy/paste the following into an empty page in Windows Notepad or other
basic ASCII editor:

 Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CtrlSoftM7]
 "CLSID1309P"=""

Save the file as something like PM9activate.reg Make sure the filename
DOES NOT have the .txt extension at the end. [Windows registry entries are
actually basic ASCII text files, but the .reg ending makes Windows handle them
differently from plain text files ending in .txt ]

Right-click the file in the Windows Explorer and choose "Merge". This reads the
registry "key" above into the Windows Registry system database. OK the stern
warnings about entering stuff into the registry. When you go through the
"RegisterMyApp" drill, about 4 or 5 entries are made into the registry under
the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CtrlSoftM7" The values of
these lines will be different on each system.

With the single line above, the program will prompt you to register each time
you start stand-alone Precision Mapping. BUT, you can dismiss the register
prompt without taking any action, and run the program normally with full
functionality.

Note that you can make as many copies of PMap install CDs as you want and pass
them around. The registry drill above will work on as many installs as you want.

APRS Server List: To update the APRS Server List, change the download URL to... aprs2.net/APRServe2.txt

For North American users, PMap 9 (Precision Mapping 9.0) along with PMapServer 9 can provide street level mapping for all of North America. They can be  installed without hassle on Windows 7 & 8. PMapServer is available for download on the UI-View website. However, Undertow Software is no longer selling new copies of PMap 9, but existing owners can continue to use it as long as they can get it registered.

Users of anything newer than Windows XP should not install UI-View below Program Files. Instead, create a folder elsewhere. To view UI-View's built-in context sensitive help file, download and install WinHlp32.exe.
