I would like to add some points on the map
like a way point, or a location that when I am
tracking someone with APRS, I can tell where
they are at in relation to that point.
You have a couple of options. You could just
click on the map and hit F5 to create an object
that you and others could see.
The other option would be to create an overlay
file. It can be created by a text editor. Open
up a text editor and enter the names of the
overlay items along with the lat / long and
possibly with a comment and/or status text.
The file should be in the OVERLAYS folder.
The format is as follows. The name can be
up to 9 characters long. There should already
be some samples in your OVERLAYS folder. You
get to choose the symbol... note the characters
after the N and W in my example below. Other
symbols can of course be used.
SomePlace!4824.05N/12320.73W/comment goes here...
SomePlace>status text goes here...
It would be worthwhile viewing the "help" file
to read about objects and overlay files.
