TX in RX mode...how to disable?

Ev Tupis (W2EV)

I've setup UI-View to "receive only"...meaning I've set

Callsign=NOCALL
Beacon Interval=0

Yet, every once in a while, this gets transmitted:
W2EV-2>CQ: <UI>:
020346 UI-View V2.1
The only place I've placed W2EV-2 is in the TNC's MYCALL. How would I
disable that function to be a truly RX-only station? There's a real
reason for wanting to be RX only at times.

Hi Ev

It is your status text.

Options -> Status Text and set that interval to 0

Setup, Status Text, either blank it or put 0 for the interval.

Absolutely - when away from home and wanting a hard copy of all the
mobiles scurrying about....

I run my TNC in NONE (i.e. command mode) so using TERMINAL to issue
XMITOK OFF does the trick, however, I then realised that even in
KISS, unplugging the microphone plug is quite effective too :)
