Re: UI-View Maps for the UK

Hi Dave
I would recommend the software created by PA7RHM which allows maps to be generated from the internet. However the links on his website don’t seem to be working at the moment:

Perhaps they can be found elsewhere.

Otherwise it is up to you to find suitable maps and enter the co-ordinates of the 2 corners yourself into the .inf files
One thing to be aware of it UI expects maps to the Square wrt to Lat and Long, which is not the case if you use maps downloaded from OS Open Data. They are square wrt the National Grid which is not aligned to Lat/long.

Subject: [UI-View] UI-View Maps for the UK

Hi all,
I've recently returned to APRS after a break of a number of years. I've got UI-View32 working with my Icom IC-9700 and it is transmitting and I'm hearing a couple of stations. One a mobilte and the other a digipeater, MB7UWR, but I can't find maps to instal to UI-View32 other than the default ones.

Can someone point me towards a database of UK maps, or let me know of a way to create my own please? I remember that, years ago, I made up my own map set using maps on a DVD, but I guess that's be superceded by now?

Thanks - Dave (G0DJA)
