Watch out for Weedy Coves

 

Between painting Roman Auxiliaries for Infamy Infamy, I've a Carlist Wars game using SP2.

The Rifles have been having success against the? Carlist?Micqueletes in the tower on the hill. The Carlists have sent the men in white skirts - Valencian Conscripts - to reinforce the position. The Irish Grenadiers stormed up the hill to throw them back. The Grenadiers are two classes better than the Valencians who also have the penalty of being 'weedy coves'. The Irish lost by six men and have run back 18" carrying their unconscious officer. I couldn't believe it.?

If it had been a club night and not a solo game we'd be talking about this for years. You have to "love the lard". What a story created by the magic when rules meet dice. I wonder what will happen next.

p.s. just for fun a number of my British Auxiliary Legion units for this game have a leader 1 subaltern in charge with a leader 2 sergeant in support which adds another tension to things.

p.p.s. dutifully listening and enjoying the Advent calendar - TFL just keeps on giving.

That sounds like a lot of fun, Stephen! The dice do provide us with some unexpected turns in our Lard games!?

I'm hoping to get an IABSM solo game started over Christmas - I've been busy with a games room and terrain/figure improvements during the strange months but no gaming

I hope you manage your game. 95% of mine this year have been solo games but I've managed over 40 with over half a dozen different rulesets but no WWII.
