Infamy! terrain /g/TooFatLardies/message/201110 <div>Midgard being a mass battle ruleset has the common sense of bringing the armies together in relatively open terrain.</div> <div>Infamy! Infamy! where the forces represent smaller numbers generally has much denser terrain - lending itself to ambushes etc. I christened similar terrain for Dux Brit as &#34;Shaggy Britain&#34;. </div> <div> </div> <div>I&#39;ve just played a game of Infamy! Infamy! where [Foundry] Romans overcame Gauls [Minifigs painted 50 years ago when I was a student]. I enjoyed it immensely as it had been a few months since my last outing with these rules.</div> <div> </div> <div>I decided to run Midgard next but on the same table set up which is in wild country including a river with only one small ford. It&#39;s proving an interesting challenge though with the Midgard rules the terrain is more a nuisance than a real hindrance. [I&#39;ve counted the shallow river as a stream for the rules]. </div> <div> </div> <div>The battle [Arthur and Aelle lists from the rulebook] is still ongoing so no final verdict yet. However, if you&#39;re looking for a change and not in too competitive amood i.e. looking for narrative, why not try Midgard on Infamy! Infamy! dense terrain. It&#39;s an interesting command challenge.</div> <div> </div> <div>Stephen</div> stephen.f.caddy@... This event will be held on Saturday 7th June at Lincombe Barn, Overndale Road, Downend, BS16 2RW.</div> <div> </div> <div>Following on from last year&#39;s first Lardy event for the club, this will follow the same format as every other Lardy day, i.e. hosted games with everything provided, but if you want to use your own dice, tokens, markers and tape measures that is fine.</div> <div> </div> <div>We are hoping for 8 games this year, which means we will have room for up to 32 players. We already have four or five games planned and I expect that we will have more before long, so I&#39;m trying to get players to come along and join the fun.</div> <div> </div> <div>If you are interested in coming along to play let me know in the comments below. The day will cost £10 per person.</div> <div> </div> <div>Thanks</div> <div> </div> <div>Carole Flint</div> </div> molly.moggins@...
