Beaconing Question - TT4 vs APRSIS32

 

How can I turn off beaconing on my TT4 but still allow APRSIS32 program to beacon so that my station shows up only once on APRSIS32 and APRS.FI.? Currently on APRSIS my iGate from TT4 is shwoing up on APRSIS32 as AB9NN and my beacon from APRSIS32 is shwoing up on APRSIS32 as AB9NN-48.? On APRS.FI I only showup as AB9NN-48.? THanks!? I would like AB9NN-48 to be an RF beacon on APRS.? I am running a Windows 11 PC and a Yeasu FTM400XDR radio.? APRS on my radio is defined as AB9NN-9.
 

Review all the beacon variables in the firmware manual and set their times to Zero.
???? BPERIOD 0?????????? periodic BTEXT TX
???? MPPERIOD 0??????? Position report after TX
???? PPERIOD 0?????????? periodic position report?
???? SBEN False?????????? periodic position reports due to SmartBeaconing
???? STATUSRATE 0???? how often TSTAT is sent with position report (although PPERIOD is already zero)
???? TPERIOD 0?????????? periodic telemetry report
??? WPERIOD 0?????????? periodic weather report

With all of those set to zero, the TT4 should not transmit any "self-generated" packets.

Is it possible that you are seeing your unit digipeating? If so, set ALIAS1 and ALIAS2 to TEMP or % and that will pretty much stop the digipeater. ( As will disconnecting your receiver fromt the TT4) Rob described turning off the other beaconing completely .

What is the message it is sending?? Just the callsign?
If PKTOCOM is TRUE, you can monitor the APRSIS32 RF port log to see what is being sent by the TT4.
When did you make the changes to the TT4?
???? Looking at aprs.fi, I don't see any messages with APTT4 since 15:38 EDT.
??? Before that there were APTT4 telemetry messages about every 30-minutes:

Now it is past 16:53, so there was no 15:57 packet (would have been T14) or 16:27 packet sent (would have been T15)

There have been no APTT4 messages for over an hour now.
I think it is OFF.

Try removing the your callsign from the TT4 SSID.

AB9NN-48 should never show up as an RF beacon on 2m APRS.?? The underlying AX.25 protocol constrains the -SSID to -0 (suppressed) through -15 inclusive.? With APRSIS32 configured as -48, it cannot translate that to a KISS packet and therefore won't transmit it on KISS-type RF ports.
