Hello, I have a Kenwood TM-V71 and I would like to transmit wx information over the APRS network via RF, from a Davis Vantage Pro2 that is a year old. I would like to use? a Tinytrak3Plus. I have the data logger, both USB and serial.? Can someone tell me how they do it?
I also have a Kenwood DM-710 that I could use instead on the V71. I have a a Tiny Trak3Plus loaded with the TinyPack v0.1. I also have a regular Tinytrak3plus for general APRS use.? I did see something about a WXTrax on a TinyTrak4Plus.
?I tried for information on another chat box. I did get a lot of information on how to use a do it using a Rasberry Pi and other stuff.
I scrolled through all prior posts, but may have missed what I was looking for.
Thanks in advance for any information,

I haven't used a TT3 based tracker in quite some time. Reading the info on the TinyTrak3 section of Byonics, it says the TinyPack firmware will interface with the Davis Weather Station.? HOWEVER, there is a note at the end of the TinyPack description that says: ?? " Note: Current Davis devices apparantly no longer support APRS."
If they Davis Vantage Pro2 does support APRS, you probably want to upgrade your TT3Plus with TinyPack V1.4 (), program the non-FA version of the firmware in your TT3Plus, configure it with the TinyPackConfig v1.4.exe and give it a try.
Interfacing to either radio should be pretty straight forward, but I suggest using the TT3 with the TM-V71 and then monitor it with the DM-710 to make sure it is working.

If you've already got the wx station connected to a computer you can use Cumulus to generate a wxnow.txt file. Then you can use APRS software such as APRSIS32 or Ui-View to send it over rf. And this could kill 2 birds with one stone as you can
setup an igate with APRSIS32 and have gating and message capabilities along with your weather station.?

I use a TT4 with a TM-V71 for APRS location.? It is hooked into the 6pin din on the back of the V71 via a Byonics M12P cable.? Cable also works with TT3+.? Some tweaking of V71 settings for that port were required.? I have the A channel for voice and the B channel for APRS.? Unit is a few hundred miles away in storage so don't have the settings at hand.

Rob, my weather shows up on APRS.FI, But it gets there via the
internet. This is how it shows up:

?I am using Davis Weatherlink 6.0.5. There is a APRS setup page.
My Tinytrak3Plus will not except the Tiny pack v1.4. I guessing
the chip is the problem there.
I will keep on working on it to go out as RF one way or another.

I am not sure what your expectations are.? The APRS-IS will only keep the first heard instance of a packet.? If the station yor WX station is connecred to us also connected to the internet, no RF packet will show on aprs.fi.
That doesn't mean it dud not get transmitted over RF, just that it didn't reach the internet via RF first.
