Re: alternate config not working

Kevin,

The board is misprinted. The input for the secondary configuration is marked with the "T". The other input ( The one you are connected to now) is for an extra Telemetry input ( Analog, 0-5 Volts) You probably noticed that a .10 pin header did not fit quite right....its the Metric System!

My camper shell had a live full time 12Vdc line for the dome light and an intermittent 12Vdc line for the roof top (3rd) brake light. Using those two circuits, a 555 timer IC, and a relay I made a ¡Ö20 minute timer to turn on the APRS and keep it on as long as I step on the brakes at least once within the time period. It made for an easy installation and hands-free automatic turn on & off as I travel.
I can now never forget to turn it on when I go nor off when I arrive. ??

Watch dog timer for Tiny Trak Four

We use out TT4? as a digipeater ZL1ROT-6? ?and to monitor our repeater solar system electrics? its over an hours drive to and from our 2m Linear repeater site? so when the TT4 locks up its a real? pain.? ? After it doing it a number of times despite latest firmware upgrades? I decided to build a watchdog timer to reset it if it ever locks up . I monitor the Tx red led? ?not the DCD led? as I have never come on a situation where the red red had locked on? ?solid,? but many times when the DCD orange like is locked on . I use the red led to trigger a reset on the timer? so long as the resets continue to happen the timer never reaches its predetermined count? and wont? do a reset on the power to the TT4 . If the tt4 locks up,? it will stop sending packets,? the red Tx led wont reset the timer chip (cd4060) and the timer? will time out? and reset the power.? Im sure there are more sophisticated ways i could have built the circuit? but its what i had at the? time? when the device was urgently? required? ...so far? over 6 months? ?we havnt had to go up into the bush 4X4? ?and do a manual reset? cheers? mike ZL1BTB

From the TeraTerm >Setup menu choose >Serial port ...
? ?Under Transmit Delay change the right box (msec/line) to 1.?
Then from the TeraTerm >File menu choose >Send File
Make sure the Binary box (bottom left) is "unchecked" (you are just sending the text file).
Navigate the Export file and select it, then hit <Open>.
?
If TeraTerm Local Echo is enabled, you will see the new setting followed by each settings old and new state.?
? ?{Variable} {new value}?

If Local Echo is unchecked, I believe you just see the old state and new state?
? ?{Variable} was {old value}?
? ?{Variable} is {new value}?

Re: TT4 config software

Yea I¡¯ve been using teraterm but I¡¯m new to it. How do you resend the file back using teraterm?

I don't think there are any new settings between the 0.68 and 0.72 (except on the MTT4B version) so the configuration app should still work.
?
In other posts, users have found this process to be helpful:
1. EXPORT the current settings to a text file
2. Edit the text file according to your desire
3. RETORE to bring the TT4 (or MTT4B) to a known state
4. Send the new settings to the TT4 (or MTT4B)
?
By running RESTORE and ensuring the TT4 is in a known state, any setting that may have been causing problems should be fixed.

Anyway its all fixed and restore worked as per my post before your.
Thanks for helping with information, could be useful next time

Re: Erroneous Setting Changes on an MT44B

What do you mean by "When I change a setting using the XXXXXIS Command"?
There is no " XXXXXIS" command or "XXXXX is {Callsign}" command.
The format should be: COMMAND VALUE?????????????? (no 'is')
?? MYCALL VK2RWK-1

The MTT4B will reply with
? MYCALL is VK2RWK-1
? MYCALL was ISVK2R

If you read all the settings with DISPLAY, the result is not usable to send "back to" the MTT4B.
You must use the EXPORT command (this shows the same information without the word "is" between COMMAND and VALUE.

BTW, I'd skip the RESTORE unless you have just updated the firmware, or have some really strange settings.
Use EXPORT, and save to a file.? Edit the file (make sure there is only a single space between COMMAND VALUE), the send the "edited" file back to the MTT4B.? Everything should work after that.
Hope this helps!

Problem I am having now is changing the settings on a unit so it can be moved to a different site. I am successfully?connecting to the MTT4B using TeraTerm 4.105 in Win 10 and a TT3 cable in the 2.5mm port. I can read the current settings? by using the DISPLAY command.
When I change a setting using the XXXXXIS Command for some setting this works for other such as MYCALL & LOCATION the setting is not accepted and an erroneous setting is created which then can not be corrected.

Here is an example:
MYCALL is VK2RWK-1
MYCALL was ISVK2R
MYCALL is ISVK2R-1

Any suggestions on what may be causing?this??

Re: Erroneous Setting Changes on an MT44B

Thanks, looks like RESTORE fixed it.
I saved a copy of the file before I started fiddling so will now just have to update all the settings to get it working how we need it.

Re: Erroneous Setting Changes on an MT44B

Compton,

I would try using the RESTORE command first, which will reset the default options ( Note that these will include the North American frequency) and try to reenter the settings. If that does not work, try reloading the firmware. If you have another PC to try it with, its worth a shot too.
