I think Chris eats like a pig because he starves when at work. ?He doesn’t even have a place to live in Austin where he works and I have no clue if he’s coming home or when or staying in a hotel or sleeping in his car…. He can’t get another apt until he gets his own store as we have no clue of where his store will be. ?It could be anywhere at all in the United States. ?Our idea was he could live here and not pay rent but give us money for groceries since he eats us out of house and home. ?He wants to learn how to cook and I’ll be glad to teach him! ?We can’t afford to support him at this rate. ??
Besides ADHD, he is bi-polar, and HIV+ (BUT it is controlled and he’s like Magic Johnson and a lot of times they can’t find it in Chris at all. ? But, none of these make you hungry especially not to the point you eat constantly and are starving all the time. ? ?He only takes the one medication and it’s for the HIV. ? ?So, he starves and then comes here and eats us out of house and home. ? At least that’s how I feel. ? He ate — in one day - a TV dinner (big dinner) and a good half loaf of bread toasted. ? ?That’s just being a pig. ? ?
Want to hear something funny? ? Chris, not all that long ago ?told me he doesn’t like peas, spaghetti, meatballs and meat sauce and so many other things and NOW he is telling me he will eat things I would normally fix even peas! ? What? ?I honestly don’t know what he will eat and won’t. ?He doesn’t like green beans so won’t eat them. ? He eats broccoli like there’s no tomorrow. ? ?No worms in them though. ?Haha
I took away the ‘lost’ wallet from a couple of months ago. ?He lost it and yesterday had it in his hands. ? The cards in it were void as he found out yesterday when trying to pay for something. ?I’ve told him I will carry his wallet (if he ever finds the new one that is which I KNOW is somewhere in the house). ? It’s the only way I can control what he’s buying and keep him from losing it again and again. ? ? I have his ID card, his driver’s license, his medical cards and the ONE credit card that is still active for him. ? I told him I didn’t want to do this but feel I have no choice and he agreed with me. ? ? ?I try to give him freedom to do things and all so he won’t feel he is not needed anymore. ? He still mows the yard, picks up the poop, works outside doing whatever he wants but he can’t keep losing his wallet(s) and a phone (handset for landline). ? He is giving up his big computer as it’s so terrible old and slower than molasses now… He can’t look things up as he doesn’t remember how to use a browser and his retention is getting soooo short. ? ?He told a tech yesterday that he has to have me with him as I am his memory. ? ?You know I just really feel badly about taking so much away from him but have no choice. ? I don’t feel he’s ready to be put into a home as he can still dress himself, shave, take showers and make his own lunch or whatever and do things here to help me out. ? ?He doesn’t drive at all and he doesn’t get lost or roam. ? ?So, I will keep him here at home until I cannot do so anymore. ? I know that day will come and it’s going to be so hard for me. ?For him as well. ? We will be married 55 yrs this Sep. ?A long time and I’ll feel so lost without him. ?YOU know that feeling.

Marc cannot hear and has a problem with his hearing. ? He has hearing aids but there’s something wrong with one and he won’t wear just one to help him hear. ? Took Marc to get some blood work done at the VA this morning. ?Afterwards, we went and had breakfast and came home. ? Marc had misplaced his laptop and, of course, I found it right away. ? It was sitting on top of his printer. ?I swear his vision is not nearly as good as he thinks it is but they tell him he has Perfect Vision now. ? ?If so, why can’t he see things??? ?I certainly don’t understand this at all. ? ?He loses things and I usually find them. ? ?Hoping his wallet will appear soon.
After breakfast we came home and took a container of purses I am going to donate out of the back of the car and headed over to Lowe’s. ? We got 8 bags of mulch for out front and 4 bags of planting soil as well. ? ?I brought home only 2 little flowers that I thought were pretty. ? They are Lemon Drop Calla Lilies and will be put out front. ? ?We need to go to another place that has flowers, shrubs and trees as we need to get another tree for the other side of the driveway and I want to look at flowers and think how I want to plant them. ? ?I am thinking of just using pots to plant flowers in and this way I won’t have to worry about anything else. ? The pots will look nice wherever I decide to use them. Anyway, not headed out again and we might do some of the mulch later today or in the morning when it’s a bit cooler. ? I also want to do the garage door. ?I have magnetic stick ons to put on. ? Hoping to make it more interesting than it is right now. ? It’s just plain now.
Will have to get more dirt as well. ?And we really need fertilizer as well. ? Supposedly, we are coming into the ‘rainy’ season here but NO rain thus far. ? WE really need it as well are under a Fire Watch now. ? Everything is terribly dry.
Anyway, that’s my day so far. ? Am going to do some laundry as well. ? ?Enough for now.
Marc just came to me and asked me to check the emails he got so he’d know what to do with them (mostly delete). ?Always something. ? Better he does this though than mess thing up for us. ? ? ?He doesn’t know how to use the browser anymore. ? ?His mind is really going.

Robotic surgery is gaining popularity, and it seems like a great option for surgery. Surgeons are still there, but I think robots are better because they’re super steady and precise. The surgeon just guides them.
By the way, did they use robotic surgery at the hospital you worked at, Donna? Was that where you had your bypass?
I had my gallbladder and hiatal surgery done through laparoscopic?surgery. I have a bunch of small cuts all over my tummy now, including one in my belly button.

Surgery was around noon and he was in recovery till 5 ish and when I called they were just settling him in his room. I am going there for 9 ish and expect he will be send home unless something came up over night.
This is his 2nd time and the doctor said at his age they may as well do it again so he can enjoy the results from it for his last few years.....lol?

Eating a lot?is not?due to ADHD.? Shawn has ADHD and eats like a bird....always has.
When he was on meds....it was the meds that decreased his appetite and now he just does not have a ferocious appetite.
He eats well though.....he is certainly not skinny.....not fat but not skinny....

Chris should be giving you something while he is staying there.....at least for groceries.
And he definitely should not be making demands....
You have to say something to him.

I think he’ll find it eventually. ? Also, he lost the telephone…. We have one handset missing and he can’t find it either. ? He was talking on it yesterday. ? Frustrating. ? I have his Military ID and Medical Card but he had everything else. ? ?Not sure if we should cancel credit cards or what so I am going to check them and see if there are any charges I know we did not make. ? ?Drivers license is in that wallet, and just a couple of credit cards and his new VA card….GRRR. ? I told hm I will carry his wallet from now on (if he finds it). ? If he doesn’t find it, it’ll be the second time he has lost a wallet within just a few months. ??
Took Marc to get some blood work done at the VA this morning. ?Afterwards, we went and had breakfast and came home. ? Marc had misplaced his laptop and, of course, I found it right away. ? It was sitting on top of his printer. ?I swear his vision is not nearly as good as he thinks it is but they tell him he has Perfect Vision now. ? ?If so, why can’t he see things??? ?I certainly don’t understand this at all. ? ?He loses things and I usually find them. ? ?Hoping his wallet will appear soon.
After breakfast we came home and took a container of purses I am going to donate out of the back of the car and headed over to Lowe’s. ? We got 8 bags of mulch for out front and 4 bags of planting soil as well. ? ?I brought home only 2 little flowers that I thought were pretty. ? They are Lemon Drop Calla Lilies and will be put out front. ? ?We need to go to another place that has flowers, shrubs and trees as we need to get another tree for the other side of the driveway and I want to look at flowers and think how I want to plant them. ? ?I am thinking of just using pots to plant flowers in and this way I won’t have to worry about anything else. ? The pots will look nice wherever I decide to use them. Anyway, not headed out again and we might do some of the mulch later today or in the morning when it’s a bit cooler. ? I also want to do the garage door. ?I have magnetic stick ons to put on. ? Hoping to make it more interesting than it is right now. ? It’s just plain now.
Will have to get more dirt as well. ?And we really need fertilizer as well. ? Supposedly, we are coming into the ‘rainy’ season here but NO rain thus far. ? WE really need it as well are under a Fire Watch now. ? Everything is terribly dry.
Anyway, that’s my day so far. ? Am going to do some laundry as well. ? ?Enough for now.
Marc just came to me and asked me to check the emails he got so he’d know what to do with them (mostly delete). ?Always something. ? Better he does this though than mess thing up for us. ? ? ?He doesn’t know how to use the browser anymore. ? ?His mind is really going.

Surgery was around noon and he was in recovery till 5 ish and when I called they were just settling him in his room. I am going there for 9 ish and expect he will be send home unless something came up over night.
This is his 2nd time and the doctor said at his age they may as well do it again so he can enjoy the results from it for his last few years.....lol?

I wish my car was paid for but it’s far from. ? It’s a 2024 and I’ll be paying for it for years at this rate. ? It should last a long time though hopefully. ? We tend to keep our vehicles until they are on their last legs. ?I’ll get it paid for and probably have to break down and get another but hopefully it will be after T’s term is done (if it ever is). ? ? ?I want the house paid for…. Want to add money each month so it can be paid off faster. Bills are climbing. ? Marc uses American Express and I was doing great paying things off. ? He has it up high (too high for me to pay off) in a month. ? I have no clue what on earth he is charging. ? ?I will just have to attack one and take the card away and then go after another. ? This is so ridiculous and I am furious. ? Chris hasn’t helped any either that’s for sure. ? ?He gets paid twice a month and being with us expects me to pay for everything and then wants this or that and…. Nope! ? I am allowing him to live here free to help him out and only asking him to contribute to the grocery bills as he eats way more in one day than Marc and I eat in two or three days (if not longer). ? Thankfully all but one charge was denied.? I had to go through the fraud department and now there will be an investigation to see if they can?prove it was fraud.? I haven’t noticed a difference as yet but we only went to the clinic for blood work. ? When we go to the hospital itself, I’m sure we’ll see a huge difference. ? Wondering if the doctor Marc always saw will still be there or if she’s been sent packing back to India. ? Wondering if her assistant will even be there or if he’s been ‘removed’ via being fired. ? ?Lordy be, all this is awful. ? ?I don’t mind telling you I am absolutely terrified about what is happening in our country. ? ?We need some strong leaders to stop it all or T will have complete control over every agency and be a true dictator. ? ?It’s so darn scary. Marc cannot hear and has a problem with his hearing. ? He has hearing aids but there’s something wrong with one and he won’t wear just one to help him hear. ? Took Marc to get some blood work done at the VA this morning. ?Afterwards, we went and had breakfast and came home. ? Marc had misplaced his laptop and, of course, I found it right away. ? It was sitting on top of his printer. ?I swear his vision is not nearly as good as he thinks it is but they tell him he has Perfect Vision now. ? ?If so, why can’t he see things??? ?I certainly don’t understand this at all. ? ?He loses things and I usually find them. ? ?Hoping his wallet will appear soon.
After breakfast we came home and took a container of purses I am going to donate out of the back of the car and headed over to Lowe’s. ? We got 8 bags of mulch for out front and 4 bags of planting soil as well. ? ?I brought home only 2 little flowers that I thought were pretty. ? They are Lemon Drop Calla Lilies and will be put out front. ? ?We need to go to another place that has flowers, shrubs and trees as we need to get another tree for the other side of the driveway and I want to look at flowers and think how I want to plant them. ? ?I am thinking of just using pots to plant flowers in and this way I won’t have to worry about anything else. ? The pots will look nice wherever I decide to use them. Anyway, not headed out again and we might do some of the mulch later today or in the morning when it’s a bit cooler. ? I also want to do the garage door. ?I have magnetic stick ons to put on. ? Hoping to make it more interesting than it is right now. ? It’s just plain now.
Will have to get more dirt as well. ?And we really need fertilizer as well. ? Supposedly, we are coming into the ‘rainy’ season here but NO rain thus far. ? WE really need it as well are under a Fire Watch now. ? Everything is terribly dry.
Anyway, that’s my day so far. ? Am going to do some laundry as well. ? ?Enough for now.
Marc just came to me and asked me to check the emails he got so he’d know what to do with them (mostly delete). ?Always something. ? Better he does this though than mess thing up for us. ? ? ?He doesn’t know how to use the browser anymore. ? ?His mind is really going.

Robotic surgery is gaining popularity, and it seems like a great option for surgery. Surgeons are still there, but I think robots are better because they’re super steady and precise. The surgeon just guides them.

I had my gallbladder and hiatal surgery done through laparoscopic?surgery. I have a bunch of small cuts all over my tummy now, including one in my belly button.

Surgery was around noon and he was in recovery till 5 ish and when I called they were just settling him in his room. I am going there for 9 ish and expect he will be send home unless something came up over night.
This is his 2nd time and the doctor said at his age they may as well do it again so he can enjoy the results from it for his last few years.....lol?

I don't want mainstream news much (CNN...national stuff).?
I do watch local news (Boston).? they don't concentrate on a ton of?the national stuff and I want to know what is going on around me directly.

But I do pay attention online.....tik tok....you tube.....
Paying attention to other country's news (like the BBC).? We are sooooo hated by other countries.?
Not us personally as people but our government.? We are making enemies and will soon be all on our own in the world.

We are at about that now and the 1930's is happening right here before our very eyes......

I have taken a huge hit with the stock market.? Thankfully not all my money is there but some is and it was doing great but now it is horrible.
?
My bills are paid through?a trust but I live on my social security.? My every day spending....food, gas, etc is from my social security check.
?
My car is paid for but it is?8 yrs old.....I will need something new eventually.? Hoping to wait as long as I can though.?
With the way tariffs are, it is either get one now....immediately or pray the car lives another 4 yrs or more.

Chris just texted me about the gas bubble in his eye. ? I guess it’s dissolving now and he was worried about it. ? ?When he saw one of the doctors last week, he still had 90% of it and she was surprised as she thought it’d be less. ? I think it dissolves differently for each individual and he is just fine. ? ?It’s good that this is happening as hopefully it has helped close the retinal detachment. ? Chris has another appt next Wednesday. ? ?

I?use a fitted sheet on my?chair (was my mom's) and it is light off white and the cats leave black hair?all over it.? That is why I use the sheet.? No way hospitals would have a unit like that taking up space....?

Where I worked started out as a nursing home.....when I first worked there a million years ago (I was there over 30 yrs)
Over the years it turned into more an extended care facility (the name even changed)? we made the locked Alzheimers/dementia memory care unit.....there was a rehab unit for short term rehab and there was one more medical unit for long term patients in comas, etc....

I was the head nurse on the Alzheimers/dementia unit

Have you noticed a change at the VA yet since they fired so many people?

It is still way too cold to plant around here.....plants are not even available yet.? I can remember a blizzard on April 1.....not normal but it can happen
We cannot have more snow though....I put the shovel and boots away  ? Normal temps for this time of year is the 40's.
Might hit 70 on Monday they say.
But it goes back into the 30's at night (it is 36° right now)

Marc cannot hear and has a problem with his hearing. ? He has hearing aids but there’s something wrong with one and he won’t wear just one to help him hear. ? Took Marc to get some blood work done at the VA this morning. ?Afterwards, we went and had breakfast and came home. ? Marc had misplaced his laptop and, of course, I found it right away. ? It was sitting on top of his printer. ?I swear his vision is not nearly as good as he thinks it is but they tell him he has Perfect Vision now. ? ?If so, why can’t he see things??? ?I certainly don’t understand this at all. ? ?He loses things and I usually find them. ? ?Hoping his wallet will appear soon.
After breakfast we came home and took a container of purses I am going to donate out of the back of the car and headed over to Lowe’s. ? We got 8 bags of mulch for out front and 4 bags of planting soil as well. ? ?I brought home only 2 little flowers that I thought were pretty. ? They are Lemon Drop Calla Lilies and will be put out front. ? ?We need to go to another place that has flowers, shrubs and trees as we need to get another tree for the other side of the driveway and I want to look at flowers and think how I want to plant them. ? ?I am thinking of just using pots to plant flowers in and this way I won’t have to worry about anything else. ? The pots will look nice wherever I decide to use them. Anyway, not headed out again and we might do some of the mulch later today or in the morning when it’s a bit cooler. ? I also want to do the garage door. ?I have magnetic stick ons to put on. ? Hoping to make it more interesting than it is right now. ? It’s just plain now.
Will have to get more dirt as well. ?And we really need fertilizer as well. ? Supposedly, we are coming into the ‘rainy’ season here but NO rain thus far. ? WE really need it as well are under a Fire Watch now. ? Everything is terribly dry.
Anyway, that’s my day so far. ? Am going to do some laundry as well. ? ?Enough for now.
Marc just came to me and asked me to check the emails he got so he’d know what to do with them (mostly delete). ?Always something. ? Better he does this though than mess thing up for us. ? ? ?He doesn’t know how to use the browser anymore. ? ?His mind is really going.

Robotic surgery is gaining popularity, and it seems like a great option for surgery. Surgeons are still there, but I think robots are better because they’re super steady and precise. The surgeon just guides them.
By the way, did they use robotic surgery at the hospital you worked at, Donna? Was that where you had your bypass?
I had my gallbladder and hiatal surgery done through laparoscopic?surgery. I have a bunch of small cuts all over my tummy now, including one in my belly button.

Surgery was around noon and he was in recovery till 5 ish and when I called they were just settling him in his room. I am going there for 9 ish and expect he will be send home unless something came up over night.
This is his 2nd time and the doctor said at his age they may as well do it again so he can enjoy the results from it for his last few years.....lol?

I took hubby to the hospital this morning and surgery was at noon. He just got into a room so he is there for the night.
