New group for Yokogawa test gear

I've been recently acquiring more Yokogawa test gear and have been talking to Yokogawa to obtain old manuals etc, so I thought maybe I'd make a group to put the info and for others to join in too.

I still have to figure out upgrading to a group with storage, so it's a bit bare bones at the moment, but if you have any Yokogawa equipment, here is the place to meet. :)

/g/Yokogawa-Test-Equipment

Apologies if this breaks any rules? Mods please remove if so.

Jared

I have just expanded the scope of the new group to cover Yokogawa, Anritsu, Hioki and Kyoritsu gear.

I figure we may as well cover a bunch of the main brands of Japanese equipment in one place.

Whoops, forgot the new link:

Since you have been able to communicate with Yokogawa directly I wonder if you could ask them if there might be any technical information still available, service manual, or even a plain schematic of the Yokogawa build HP974A and HP973A multimeters during I think it was late 90s. I've been trying for years to find any of this information without success, but perhaps by asking directly they may hopefully provide it if still stored somewhere in their basement archives. I do own several 974 and 973 multimeters and they are a great instrument to be had at a bargain price for their performance specially the 974A. But have one of each model that did arrive with some battery corrosion problems and I was able to fix almost all the issues, but a few remain and it would help a lot to have even just a schematic. Thanks.

PS. will sign up to the newly created group as well.

Alrighty, final identity crisis I swear... :D

To encompass more of the smaller Japanese brands, I've settled finally on this name:

/g/Japanese-Test-Equipment

Basically, it'll be open to discussion for Japanese test equipment in general, except where there is an existing group (i.e. Advantest discussion should go in the existing Advantest group)

I've sent off a message to Yokogawa asking for info on the closely related 7537 and 7544 meters. (I think they are the Yokogawa versions of the HP ones you have)

?I think those are at best only very loosely equivalent models at best as the HP versions had a different layout and some additional/different functions, but at this point anything is better than no information at all. I was hoping since Yokogawa entirely manufactured these meters for HP they may still have some of the original information on file, so perhaps it would not hurt to mention to them the HP974A/973A as well. Of course all a long shot.

Thanks for the efforts.

Hi just wondering if Yokogawa ever replied to your request for the HP973/974 DMMs technical documentation? Thanks.
