Re: 2465B Input attenuator
ISTR that on the 24xx series 'scopes that you can use the Ch2 attenuator for Ch1 by rerouting the cables that drive the relays (and vice-versa). Apologies if I got that wrong... David

Yeah, I think I found the site and the current seller is called Mina. The seller has a lot of furniture and a lot of test equipment. To me it looks like a typical scammer.? They build a list of

Re: Tek 7904 HV transformer T1310 part 120-0742-00 insulation burning
We used Dolph electrical varnish, heat cure. The silocones are not reccomended for transformer impregnation as air voids can form. The wdg lay is optimized if perfect lay, L>R rather then cris cross.

Re: Tek 7904 HV transformer T1310 part 120-0742-00 insulation burning
The HV transformers that I have built, I have sealed under vacuum with silgard 184 or Dow RTV 615. Note that in high frequency switch mode transformers, winding direction is important. I have on a

Re: Tek 7904 HV transformer T1310 part 120-0742-00 insulation burning
The drawing is very helpful - but one thing it doesn't mention is whether or not the HV 1500V winding has any special construction (since there's quite a potential difference between the ends of this

Re: Tek 7904 HV transformer T1310 part 120-0742-00 insulation burning
Jared, Kapton is very bad to work with as it tears easily when cutting to fit botbbin. Most HV trsf use Mylar tape like 3M56 (yellow) The wire depends on the original design, usually we use Solderable

Hi, My 7904 HV transformer in the PSU is giving trouble. There has been corona type discharge from LV secondary windings and on taking it out the transformer paper is burnt away in places. I guess it

Re: Tektronix 577 curve tracer not working properly
The 2n5566 jfet was not working properly, the part listed as Q604A in the 177 schematics . I¡¯ll try to change that one and see if the problem will solve. Do you think that this faulty jfet could be

Thanks for your reply, the calibration and the relative adjustments were done when I brought the tracer home a month ago and it passed all of them. Now the traces are 2 vertical division in the 10 mA,

Re: Tektronix 577 curve tracer not working properly
One thing to note that is really important on the 577/177 is there is a calibration routine for the 177. This needs to be completed FIRST before the frame (577) calibration will converge. If you are
