Re: Unable to perform CAL08 in a Tek 2465B- now vertical position not working on the four Ch
Sounds to me like you aren't even close to being ready to mess around with calibration. Fix your power supply problem, and if your scope is a "B" model with SN B050000 and above, replace the SMD

Glen, and others who replied a little update; adjusting the CRT bias worked on the 1740 with no increase in the overall current draw of the unit. The 1760 showed bright spots at any increase of CRT

Glen, good idea that may work on the 1740, the 1760 has more computer adjustments and I am a long way from that abillity. One company I worked for did industrial/broadcast repair for several TV

Re: DSA602 useful? too huge on a bench?
If you are going to get the DSA602, the A version is the one to get. Mine was version 2.23. There is also an 11803 that can sample faster I think, may also be an A version.

Re: Vector/Waveform Monitors
If these were used in a TV station or production facility, you can bet on the tube being worn out. These were usually left on 24/7/365. Try changing the CRT bias ans see if you can get some more life
