Minor request when replying


 

More postings are becoming contaminated with "line noise" like "#yiv7938461022 #yiv7938461022 -- #yiv7" etc. I presume it is a de-html-ed version of the adverts at Yahoo! appends to each posting.

While that doesn't reduce the value of the information in the post, it does look ugly.

Can I suggest that before posting we delete the advert at the end previous message, rather than include it in the reply.


 

I just saw again how really annoying it can be: try a search at the web site for "130 L-C meter".

I considered that theoretical possibility, but didn't include it in my post because I haven't seen it.

Shame it turns out to be a practical problem.

I fully agree. One way to avoid that mess is by enclosing the double quotes in your search term. Extra spaces between words are ignored but the word components of the search term change into an AND condition in sequence, instead of the wider OR condition without quotes.
