2467A miseries
I recently picked up a project 2467B scope on the famous auction site. The decision was largely based on the pristine external condition of the machine--all panel controls were intact and it appeared

Re: 577 noisy step generator update
I should add the interference appears only on the 0.5V 1V 2V and 5V positions, the interference or flickering pattern around the dot with the generator on is aggravated most at 0.5V and progressively

Re: Q: digital display replacements for CRTs or obsolete LED/LCD displays
FYI There was a discussion about LCD replacements for CRTs on the HPAK list a few weeks ago. Cost was about $100 for an LCD and a VGA board. Required a single logic chip to complete. Unfortunately,

Sorry, left out to let the plastic restorers sit for a while before removing the excess and buffing - the more they penetrate the better and more even the results. Hal

577 noisy step generator update
I have reason to suspect that the step generator and the step amplifier appear to be working okay as probing the outputs of the step generator and step amplifier. With the step offset set in the volts

I figured that would be the case in needing elbow grease and grease remover. It reminded me of something I heard years ago that no matter how hard you wipe you cannot wipe a smear of wax from a candle

Re: Polaroid(R) - type film for C-type cameras ?
Kodak dropped their film packs many years ago, and even Fuji stopped manufacturing these a few years ago. I have not found a manufacturer still making the product. Gary -- Gary Robert Bosworth

In my experience, the oil lasts until you decide to put some elbow grease and grease remover to work on the knobs. Many times, the whole reason for the problem is the knobs were washed with a strong

Simichrome polish is great!? I started using it on bicycle parts in the late 70's and still use it every once in a while on other things.? Never heard of Shaklee's Basic Shine, but I've been using

Re: Which plastics are 500 series knobs made of? / Pantone colors?
(From one of the old radio restorers) My understanding is it is possible (albeit not easy) to polish through the smooth outer surface of bakelite into the rough inner material, so don't get carried
