The group can reply if they disagree, but I would start with the power supply. Make sure all voltages and ripple are within spec. Everything else depends on the power supply working correctly. If you read the archives you will see filter capacitors are a prime suspect for problems in the power supply, although other parts can fail.

Hello to everyone. I'm a new member needing some advice on where to
start with a 475 o'scope that doesn't display a trace signal and when I
use the beam finder I can locate a stationary dot for both channels.

I do have a copy of the service manual for this scope as well as a copy
of the troubleshooting guide for these Tektronix scopes. Any pointers
or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
