Resetting UWT-50 when not turning on

I have a UWT-50 and 100. When I put them away at the end of my last session, I removed the batteries from the 50 since they were almost dead.?

Today, I put batteries in the 50 and nothing. I cannot get the throttle to show any signs of life. So I turned on the 100, confirmed the batteries were good, then put them in the 50. Nothing.?

is there some key combo to press to try to bring the UWT-50 throttle back to life? ?Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I figured out the issue. The battery holder is cracked. Apparently the storage case I was using didn’t protect the battery holder.?

Does anyone have experience with TCS service in regards to the throttles?

I am trying to determine if I should just glue the battery box back together and reinforce it with JB Weld, or if I should send the throttle back to TCS and have them install a new batterbox.

You can contact TCS for their thoughts, but I would expect them to be able to make the repair for a fee that includes shipping & handling, parts, and labor.

If you are interested in attempting a repair yourself, this may void the TCS warranty, and may result in increased service costs should TCS need to ultimately service the unit. It is up to you if you want to try repairing it yourself or not. The battery holder is a if you want to try and replace it yourself. On top of it being soldered, it is also a friction fit into the "through" holes, so I would consider it a difficult repair that requires expert soldering skills. If you will attempt a glue repair, it is Nylon plastic, so you should consider a glue and/or solvent that works well with Nylon.

Stuart,

Thanks so much for the details on the battery holder. I saw it was soldered on both ends, it is definitely a repair I do not want to try myself.

Knowing it is Nylon helps a well. Thanks for the details.

Heath,

You can submit a warranty for the UWT-50 using the - Just be sure to note in the order comments that this throttle is coming back for a Battery Box NOT an encoder/pot.

If you need a , we can throw one in the box for $4.95.
