First and last night of winter observing in VT!

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Had six skiing friends who are mostly neophyte astronomers?
over for a couple of hours.?

Mark pulled out the 17 1/2¡± Dob for its maiden 2025 voyage. We managed to have the first and last night of winter observing all in one night.?

Mark gave our friends a night sky tour with the laser pointer and binoculars.?

He then showed them the double cluster, M81, & M82, through the scope.?

I set up the Seestar and at the end of our observing I showed our friends the Seestar jpegs of M81 & M51.?

A perfect day and night of almost spring skiing and almost spring observing!?

That's great!? I presume they were appropriately awed by the visual and imaging experience?? Are any interested in getting into AP?

Thanks for the Vermont update, Deb. Nice job on the Seestar photo and I¡¯m happy to hear Mark is promoting NGC869 and 884 aka Double Cluster.

Sounds like a great evening sharing the sky with friends! I must confess I am ready for spring.
