Catherine Kolnaski STEAM night
Mark, Gerry K., and I manned the TAAS table, Mark¡¯s 60 mm refractor, my Seestar 50, and Gerry¡¯s Lund 80 mm solar scope tonight from 5-7 pm at CKMS.
According to CKMS staff around 400 attendees came through the door. Using the handy-dandy counter Jeff & Shoreline provided (from the Chester Fair last year) at least 170 hands (and fingerprints) landed on Mark¡¯s refractor and Gerry¡¯s Lund. A few wanted to ¡°look through¡± the Seestar but I held them off and pointed them to the image on the iPad of Gerry and/or Mark outside at the solar scope. ? We handed out lots of Night Sky Network NASA stickers and other NSN swag. We had one woman say she was sending in her membership application as soon as she got home. Keep an eye out George! Unfortunately, I¡¯m away so I can¡¯t help at the school. I really enjoyed doing it last year.?

Re: For Those Who Want Free SW for Image Processing
Geoff, glad you have discovered Siril. I'm using it for SeeStar lights only images and it works well. It does require that you have only lights in a folder called "lights" but it doesn't require bias frames.?
?
There's even a script called OSC_Preprocessing_WithoutDBF.?
?
Hope that helps,

Re: Cell phone astrophotography - beginners attempt
Thanks all,
Mark - I did notice that as well!? I am eager to try this out at one of our observing sites.
All - the best benefit of this is my cell phone stays outside and limits mindless scrolling in the evening :)?
