Re: January TAAS Monthly Meeting Minutes

Mark, so quickly and concise. I have no corrections.
One question though - where do they take place and what are the Hammonsett /ASNH dates??

If they're only maintained on the ASNH NSN Calendar and not on the Groups.io calendar,? can you please include a link to them in the minutes?

Thank you!

John

George has kept us up to date with dues payments. Keep those checks coming in folks.
If you, like us, missed Monday's Mysterious Marvin-Moon Mesh, there are lots of online pics to see, but it's not quite the same. (CT was lucky. VT was not.)
We have the proposed Hammonasset public sessions with ASNH on the calendar:
Saturday, March 29, 7:30 pm
Saturday, May 31, 8:30 pm
Friday, Aug 15 with rain date Aug 16, 8:30 pm
Friday, Oct 24, with rain date Saturday Nov 1, 7:00 pm
Hoping Leslie can provide an upadate on the Conn College observatory upgrade.
Deb has kept the Night Sky Network up to date with the our previous and schedueled outreach sessions.
TAAS and SAS have planned a social event for Saturday February 22nd.
Is there anything else you TAASers would like to talk about?
Shall we get together for a Zoom visit?

Re: January Meeting Tomorrow?

Me 3. At minimum, we can talk about recent acquisitions throughout the holidays once we hear the report from Doc Brown of course. I have tried to find a new home for it to no avail. I know we would like the optics but wouldn't it be better if the legacy of that scope lived on with modern electronics of course.?

Then of course, there is NEAF coming up April 5th and 6th.

Re: Marvin meets the moon

The lunar occultation of Marvin was a lovely site to watch last night. The sky was clear and it wasn't windy. Sat on the back porch with binocs and watched Mars disappear. Then I came outside about an hour later and saw the red planet reappear. Sweet. And tonight, we get treated to a lovely spray of planets across the sky, plus the rising moon early in the evening. I can stay awake until 6/6:30 p.m. at least for this!
