Edited test 3
I have made some minor changes to the Burmese, Egyptian Mau, Russian Blue, and Selkirk Rex tests. Please use those to take your tests. If you have already submitted your answers to me, go ahead and check them to see if your answers are the same in this version. These are the most recent changes, so if I sent you an email asking you to redo any of these tests, please use the versions in this email. Remember, the tests are due by Monday. Thanks! Anne Mathis

Tests and videos
Hi everyone, I still am missing tests and videos from several of you. If you can get those to me today or tomorrow, that would be great. I am leaving town for several days Thursday night, and I would like to have all tests graded before I go. I¡¯d also like to get you feedback on your videos before I go, so you can work on the next set with that feedback in your minds. As far as the test go, the ones I have received have been excellent for the most part. If I have asked you to look over a test and resubmit answers, it¡¯s because you had less than an 80% on that section. If a question says something about penalizing something, and that item is a disqualification, the answer should be false. That seems to be tripping some of you up. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks for the hard work you have out in already! We are proud of all of you! Thanks, Anne Mathis

Fun show reminders
Hi everyone, Just a couple reminders about the fun show approval- You may not judge a fun show where there will be FFF or ICE judges, or in a facility where a show by either of these associations was held or will be held the same weekend. You must request permission to judge a fun show, and provide a flyer for the show. I do not recommend that you purchase plane tickets before you have this permission. The flyer may not list you as AB or SSP. My understanding of these shows is that all judges judge all the cats, so there is no reason to specify AB. I am not singling out associates here. These policies are in place for all CFA judges. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Reminder
Hi everyone, I thought I had told you this, and it I haven¡¯t I apologize. You may not clerk in the area where you may judge except in the opposite specialty. If you leave your area, such as a visit to the US, you may clerk there. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks, Anne

Next videos
Hi everyone, I have viewed at least one round of videos from each of you, and would like one more. If there are breeds available that you haven¡¯t handled, particularly in different body styles, please try to handle those. You may use some of the breeds you¡¯ve handled before, as long as they are different cats. Don¡¯t forget to do a final! Please make sure to use words from the standard, and present the cat to the audience. After the videos are reviewed, and we determine that you are ready to go on, there is a final test for you to take. Our final zoom will be a presentation and discussion of the judge¡¯s code of ethics, social media policy, and some other things that have come up in the previous teams. I appreciate the hard work and dedication you have shown me in this program. Keep up the good work! I can¡¯t wait to see you behind the table! Anne Mathis

Some reminders
Hi everyone, Hope you are all well, and if you are judging, you are enjoying it! Here are a couple reminders for you. Don¡¯t forget to scan and send your paperwork and evaluation (if you have it) to me for review. I¡¯m glad to say that there have been few errors, and those numbers are decreasing. The Judging Program chairs have asked that any judge not post pictures of themselves with a cat behind the table. They feel that that shows a preference for that cat. You also should think twice before you post show wins, as we are already watched very carefully by exhibitors, and it seems like you are promoting your own cat. If you Grand a cat that you don¡¯t plan to continue to show, I think that¡¯s fine, but you might say in your post that the cat is now retired, or something like that. A last reminder for today about the judge¡¯s code of ethics. If you have not read it carefully, please do so, and please make sure you are not doing anything that is or will be questioned by others. You are ambassadors for CFA and the CFA Associate Judging Program whether you are behind the table or not. Please make us proud. If you have any questions about these or any other things, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Anne Mathis

Clerking 2
Hi everyone, Just a reminder that as trainees or judges in the Associate program, you may not clerk in the specialty you are or will judge in in the area where you judge or will be judging. You are permitted to master clerk. This is consistent with the rules in the regular program. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Anne Mathis

Correction
Ok, let¡¯s do this when we aren¡¯t rushing. As a trainee, you may clerk both specialties. As an Associate Judge, you may clerk only in the opposite specialty from the one you can judge in your area. If you leave your area, you may clerk both specialties. Sorry for the confusion, which I made even worse! Thanks, Anne Mathis

Next handling
Hi everyone, I¡¯m not sure when the next show is coming up, but what I need for what will likely be your last video session is handling of at least 5 cats, preferably of several different body styles, and then presentation of a final where you take the cats out and present them to the audience using words from the standard. In the most recent videos I¡¯ve watched, everyone¡¯s handling has improved and looks good. Using words from the standard in a final is what every trainee in the regular and associate program struggles with. Everyone has improved there, but more would be better. Try to talk about at least three features of the cat, using phrases that make the exhibitors know that you understand the standard. For example, in a breed like the Aby, you would certainly want to talk about the ticking and the color. In a Birman, the gloves and laces, and in a Maine Coon, the long, rectangular body and the shag coat should probably be mentioned. Good luck! I know you¡¯ll make us proud. We can see the finish line! Reminders
Hi everyone, We have been reviewing paperwork for a couple months now, and there are some errors that are popping up. Most of the errors should be caught by your clerk or the master clerk, but that doesn¡¯t seem to be happening, so ultimately the responsibility is yours. You¡¯ll need error free paperwork to count toward an application to the regular program if that is your goal. Please let me know if you have any questions. I¡¯m happy to do a paperwork refresher if you think you need one. Anne 1. Diagonal line on absent cats with ¡°A¡± in the TR TO Column 2. Initial any and all corrections 3. Be careful about transfers. Write the class number they are transferring to in the right place and is the correct class. DO not say TR TO HHP or to Male or to Female. Always Write the correct class number. Move them to the correct place. Write the color/pattern under the cat¡¯s number. 4. Mechanics: Check all paperwork to be sure the work is correct.

Another point 2
Hi everyone, I reaped it¡¯s possible you are making corrections on your white sheets, but not on the yellow. Please make sure corrections are on the yellow sheets, as those are the ones we see. Thanks, Anne

I would send them this section of the Judging Program Rules to make sure they know it¡¯s their responsibility to comply FUN SHOW: A show that is held in conjunction with a CFA licensed show or a stand-alone, aligned with another cat organization. The fun show must not score the entrants or place any titles on the cats participating, other then for awards at that specific show. No ring type or judge type can be designated. Final test
Hi everyone, Attached is your final test, which I will need returned to me by March 13. Note that the breed sheet used is outdated, but that doesn¡¯t affect the answers, as there is only one Exotic breed winner. I will be reviewing your videos today and tomorrow, and will let you know my thoughts. My pet sitter had put my pad with your breed test results in such a safe place while I was away in January that I just found it, so I will also send you your results on this this week. Everyone passed those tests, but I¡¯ll let you know your incorrect answers, so you can look them up before you are in the ring. If you have any questions, please let me know. Good luck! Anne Mathis
