My mistake!
Hi everyone, Glad to see lots of you on the presentation today. I will get certificates out shortly. In my email a while back, I mentioned that you had until next February to have three assignments in. That is incorrect. You have until February 2025 to have those three assignments, and exceptions can be made if necessary. That being said, there are several of you that have either not judged at all, or only once or twice. I have no way of knowing if that is by choice, or you aren’t being invited. If you are not interested in remaining on the panel, please let me know. Hope to see you all somewhere soon! Please contact me if you have questions or concerns. Thanks, Anne Mathis

BAOS
Hi everyone, I see quite a few of you will be attending the BAOS in Hong Kong next month, and that’s very exciting. I believe at some point, the associate program may be discontinued, and I’m glad to see that many of you are working toward the regular program. I’ll be excited to see you all there! There are still some spots open, but if you are considering attending, I wouldn’t delay very long. A few of you have either not judged at all, or only a very few times. If this pertains to you, would you mind privately letting me know why, or if you have upcoming assignments? If you are interested in being licensed again next February, you really need to have judged 3 shows in the last year. If there’s a reason you haven’t, can you please contact me? Hoping everyone is doing well. Can’t wait to see you somewhere! Anne Mathis

A gentle reminder
Hi Everyone, Hope to see some of you at the Annual. If you are there, please come to the Judge’s workshop Thursday night. It will earn you CEUs, which you need to earn toward your continuing education report cards that are due every five years. More on that after the annual. Just a reminder that judges may not be in the benching area before a show you are judging. It’s probably also a good idea to save conversations with your friends until after the show, too. It just doesn’t look good. If you have any questions about any of this, please let me know. Thanks, Anne

Judge’s workshop

Hi everyone, The annual is approaching quickly, and I wanted to send out a reminder about the workshop to be held Thursday evening from 6-8 PM. I don’t know the room number yet, but will send it out when I have it. I believe a light dinner will be provided, and thanks to CFA for that! We have several topics to cover, and the agenda is attached. Looking forward to seeing you there Anne Mathis CFA Letterhed 2022 Logo.docx

A few things
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well, and enjoying judging. I have a few reminders for you. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. First of all, you should not be posting pictures of yourself on social media at a show showing yourself holding a cat you judged at that show. This gives exhibitors the feeling that you are showing preference toward that cat, and the judging program committee gets complaints about this all the time. Please only post a picture of yourself behind the table, or one of yourself with your clerk or the other judges. Those would be appropriate. If you have put pictures up like that recently, please take them down. Secondly, please be aware that as a licensed judge, you can not clerk in the specialty you judge in. That was fine when you were a trainee, but it is against the rules as a judge. You may still master clerk. I had a disturbing email this morning about some AJs who exhibited recently in China. If you are exhibiting, you need to be sure that the cats you put in the ring are very good examples of their breeds, and are presented in excellent condition. Cats that have a disqualification, cats that are obese or too thin, aggressive cats, poorly groomed cats, or any cats that make your judgement look questionable should not be exhibited by anyone in the judging program. You need to understand that as a member of the judging program, all eyes are on you. I’m not saying that something you show needs to be national win quality, but it should be a cat that could grand at the very least. I was not given specific names of anyone who exhibited these cats, and did not ask for that information. Lastly, it would be helpful to know of any one of you that are looking to apply to the regular program. I’d be happy to make sure you are on the right track, and it’s helpful for the committee to know who is thinking about applying. I know of some now, but if you could let me know, it would be appreciated. The updated rules for application are on the CFA website, but I’m happy to help out wherever I can. I hope to see some of you next week at the Annual! Thanks, Anne Mathis

Judging program
Hi everyone, I’ve had several questions on application to the regular judging program lately, so thought I'd send this information out. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Marking a Judges Book (2.17) b. Breed Focused Experience (2.16) c. Clerking License Requirement (2.4) 5.3 The name of each Associate Judge Applicant to the regular Judging Program will be submitted to the Board of Directors at the first meeting held at least six (6) weeks after receipt by the Application Administrator of the completed application. Several things
Hi everyone, Hope you are all well. Here’s a couple reminders and other information. T3 Hong Kong trainees, you are up for advancement by the board at tonight’s meeting. You will receive official results of this from Rachel Anger, so be looking for that. I’m very proud of all you have accomplished. All associate judges, please remember to be sending me your paperwork, and be sure the clubs are sending your evaluations to me, also. In reviewing paperwork, the most common errors appear to be in transferring cats from one class to another. We will be working on a review session on this, but in the meantime, if you aren’t sure of where to move the entry, please ask another judge at the show before the start of judging. I’m here to answer any questions you have, too! We’ve had some complaints from exhibitors regarding rewarding “round headed” Ragdolls. Although these cats may not have round heads, but the coat makes it look that way, it’s possible that those cats are less correct than their competition. Please be sure that you are using cats that meet the current CFA standards, and not those that are perhaps in fashion at the time. If the standard needs to be changed, this would be through your breed council. As always, please contact me if you have questions or issues. I hope to see you all in person soon! Anne Mathis

Judging areas
Hi everyone, Just a reminder that judging program rule 4.5 states that “an associate judge is licensed only as a single specialty associate judge, and only in his/her designated geographic area, as determined where the application was completed and approved”. This means that Chinese Associates may only judge in China, Team 2 Asia in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, T3 Hong Kong only in Hong Kong, and T3 South Korea only there, also. There seems to have been some confusion about that. If you have any questions, please let me know. Anne Mathis

Certificates.
