? Good Morning from TONE, I'm back again to bang the drum for this year's Winter Dinner.? Much like the 2016 event, we are sponsoring a morning learning session as well as the buffet dinner in the evening.? If you are free on Saturday, February 17, I think you'd really enjoy this double header. The day will start with a 9:00 - 11:30 A.M. seminar on "Weather for the Coastal Cruising Sailor."?The session leader is going to be Dr. Frank Bohlens, Professor of Oceanography at the University of Connecticut who is both an expert on ocean weather and an avid ocean racer.? Frank brings a special link to Tartan since he completed the Newport to Bermuda race in a Tartan 37.? If you are planning to attend the weather session please feel free to email me any questions you want addressed.? Frank and I are working to ensure we have a really informative session that meets people's needs. The evening fun begins at 5:00 P.M. with a cash bar cocktail "hour," with cheese and fruit, that runs to 7:00 P.M.? I've learned from past experience that TONE folks have lots to talk about seeing old friends and we need lots of chat time.? The buffet will begin at 7:00 and includes multiple entrees (including a roast pork carving station), yummy vegetables, and the usual meal items that round out a great dinner.? The event is being held at the Mystic Yachting Center at the Mystic Shipyard, Mystic, CT.? It's a great venue with a meeting room on the first floor for our morning seminar and an upstairs ballroom where the buffet dinner will be held.? It has a great view being situated on the Mystic River and there will be plenty of convenient parking right at the Yachting Center for attendees.? Google Mystic Yachting Center if you want to see the venue - you'll be impressed. The cost for the total event is $70.00 per person. This is as good as it gets.?
