Mast Chocks
J C,
I never chocked my mast partners exactly but it is probably a good idea to secure it on each side (port & stbd) and maybe even fore and aft.? The closest thing I can think of that resembles the orginal "shims" that were used for this would be those rubberized door stop gizmos you can probably find at most hardward stores.? You could use wooden cedar shims but I think that something more flexible is a bit more ideal.
Something like this:?

You will need to tape over the mast partners once it is shimmed to keep rainwater from running down the mast into the cabin.? Duct tape only works marginally well for this.? There are better more expensive tapes for this application.
Good luck.

Simple solutions to simple problems, i like it :) its nice when you don't have to use some specialty part to get something done. one small problem down, a million more to go. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI use shims/wedges cut from a white oak board. This article describes the method, background, and hints pretty well:Good luck! Brent? S/V LOLA? #438, Cataumet, MA XR mobile device On Jan 11, 2020, at 7:52 AM, j c <anvil3a@...> wrote:

I bought some rubber from hardware store and cut it onto suitable strips. Install a piece, then pull mast to compress the first piece and then install opposite side. ?When you release the mast, both pieces of robber will be under some compression.?
