Re: Top side primer
Depends on your final finish type. I only use enamel on wood boats, and one or two part for FG. I pretty much stick by manufacturer guidelines for reducing, thinners etc.?On FG I generally use a 1

Re: Top side primer
Recently I used Topsides primer and paint by Rustoleum. It's a one-part primer/paint. I used it to finish new floorboards for our inflatable dinghy. I was very pleased with the ease of use and the

Re: Trailer for my T27?
Thanks Brent (and Glenn), Joe Boat has been recommended to me, and your experience confirms his good reputation. I will consider him, but when asked last fall, my recollection was with his delivery,

Re: Trailer for my T27?
I've used Joe Boat out of Old Saybrook (http://www.joeboat.com/) to haul 35 miles from home to New London, CT and they were awesome. As an alternate, the guy who runs Sea Tow out of Noank Shipyard has

Re: Trailer for my T27?
You might look for a local guy with a hydraulic trailer; they often are flexible enough to take a hull with a keel. Then put it up on stands at your home which you might be able to rent. Glenn Warren

Trailer for my T27?
Does anyone have a lead on where (preferably in southern New England) I might find a cheap trailer adequate for my T27? I was considering a short haul this fall, then back to in-water storage for the

Re: Looking for Barient 22 self tailing 2 speed winch
I concur. Beckson still does sell the same ports. According to the salesman at Beckson, they supplied them. But double check the size; we replaced all 6 not long ago and the size we had was not what

Beckson made the windows for the T27-2. As of a few years ago they still stocked the parts. Monica Malone PsyD monicam@...

Re: Looking for Barient 22 self tailing 2 speed winch
Scott just discovered that the mounting footprint for the Barient 22 winch is the same for the 21 and the 19 so that opens up the possibilities for getting a replacement. We also have lost and are in

Re: Scupper replacement
Big is good. I am also planing to up grade the scuppers as part of a deck recore. My scuppers plug badly. I am looking at the geometry of routing them out th transom. Fewer holes below the waterline.

Re: Looking for Barient 22 self tailing 2 speed winch
I see model 23, 21, 19, etc on eBay, but no 22. Maybe they're visually similar enough to be acceptable for the level of aesthetic you're going for, and comparably functional?

Looking for Barient 22 self tailing 2 speed winch
Fellow Tartan Owner's, I recently had a winch explosion on my T28 that resulted in several components sinking to the bottom of the lake. I know this is a T27 site and I might be living on the dark

Greetings, I looked at the picture of the crack. It is definitely the bolt on keel joint. I have owned hull #4 for decades. I'm certain of what I'm looking at. In 1966 Douglass & McLeod went to

Re: Crack in keel [1 Attachment]
I am currently in Colombia but will be back in a week or so. My 1967 T27 is in Nyack, a few miles south of Stony Point. I'd be happy to take a look at your baby. If it is a 1967 model boat there
