Can confirm this... though it took some doing to get the telescoping metal pole to drop. Base seems to be centered on the bottom of the table. -s

I don’t know if it’s helpful or not, but my understanding is that the original table dropped down to fit in the gap around which the settee wraps, thus forming the base for a double berth, kinda.
