Oil pressure sending unit

Good morning, everyone.

I need to replace the oil pressure sending unit on the EJ22 in my 1987 Westfalia. Is anyone aware if this is a standard part for all EJ22 engines?

Thank you

Bob

Hi Bob,
If it's the simple grounding switch you're talking about, I just replaced my leaking one, with part# PS160 , but I don't know if it is the original part, as there is a thread adapter into the oil chamber. The thread on the PS160 is 1/8BSP which surprised me.? I have only owned the van 6 months, the conversion was done about 15yrs ago.

BSP is the thread on the OEM oil sender.? BSP can seal without any thread sealant while NPT always needs sealant.? BSP is just another little Subaru quirk.? If there is an insert in your engine it was likely a repair done after being buggered by an incorrect NPT ?installation attempt (oil pressure line).? Repair was likely done as part of a rebuild.
