Is the VSS input to ECU supposed to have 5V when no sensor is connected?

I have a wiring harness from AutoVentures, great harness, but I am trying to connect the VSS, but that signal from the ECU always has 5V on it. I would have thought it would be 0 and I supply the signal. ?Maybe its more of an NPN where you supply the ground ?

It's just a pull up resistor inside the ECU, some are tied to the 5V power rail, others to the 12V.? So yes, all you truly need to do is supply a pulsed ground signal and you should be good..

Thanks Kevin, I just simply swapped 5V for gnd and all good.??
