Help Identifying Conversion History 1986 Syncro with 6cyl Subaru

开云体育

recently purchased a repainted blue 1986 Syncro with a six cylinder Subaru conversion. CarFax shows car has lived in Oregon, Washington and Idaho over the years, changing hands mote often in the past few years.?
Appears to have rebuilt transmission as case looks fresh.

Vehicle came with no documentation so I am hoping to find out who did the conversion, and the harness, any info on the transmission and other helpful facts so I can avoid duplicating work already done.?

Thanks in advance if you can help I.D. This van.

Found someone on the samba that was looking to buy it in 2019 and had saved the Facebook marketplace ad. Was able to connect with builder via messenger!

Me, too! I wonder if it was a Tintop converted to a camper because of the way the top raises up? It also seems rounded, as if from a bay window. The fuel tank is in an odd location, too. And the expansion tank is a relatively new offering. Looks like a RMW tank. Interesting history. . ..

Oh, and I sure as heck don't have that much room in the engine bay with a SVX engine.

For starters, that’s not the EG33 3.3L SVX engine. You’ve got something else, possibly the later 3.0L 6cyl engine. Look at the exhaust to see if it’s 3 pipes per side or just 1, that will help ID. Or just Google image search that aluminum intake manifold.

This intake spider is from an 01 to 04 Legacy/outback H6 3.0. It’s aluminum so not 05 or later, which are black plastic. Single port exhaust, w/extended skirt.

A prior owner did the conversion himself, so he did harness, engine mount etc. It was a JDM EZ 30. From the factory it was a sunroof top. He added a Riviera Top.

Jeff did he bolt that up to an auto trans or a manual?

Is this the one with no rear locker?? I think you got a smokin' deal on this thing, man, congrats!

Has the valve for the rear locker on the Rancho rebuild transmission and I bought an actuator. Need vacuum lines and electric to dash. Would appreciate if someone has a pencil line drawing or schematic showing what I need to make it work. Bought a retro dash pod from campervan culture in u.k. And I see user ALIKA, FROM Hawaii on Samba selling switches, but I am a bit at a loss on how to make it work. Would love to get into decoupler world, but it looks like entry fee for that is $1,000.00!
any help appreciated.?
