You can get hour meters at the local marine store . What state are you in . in California Im not sure they would be OK with an aftermarket odometer . had to rebuild one for my MG .

Rather than fussing too much with?incompatible signals, I instead discarded my vw instrument cluster and instead screwed down a thin piece of plywood in its place and installed modern 50mm round gauges for temp, tach, and gas level.? For speed, I used? a 440 gps driven unit that projects onto the windshield.? I also bought LED indicators for high beam, turn signal, oil, brake, and alternator, and toggle switches for emergency?flasher, lights, and defog.

I no longer have an odometer, but the original one had failed long before I owned the car.? ?I just registered it with "unknown" mileage and now it no longer lies.? ?I probably?should add an hour meter (like on airplanes).? ?.??
