Re: High and sticky RPM

The same is true when cleaning up IACV or Throttle Body.? You have now just introduced new parameters....that is, a clean system.? ECU is not familiar with these new parameters.? No sweat..it will learn...just give it time.

Yes!? ECU is constantly making incremental adjustments.? It will only do a little bit at a time...by design.? Might even take 20 start/drive/shut-down cycles, but eventually it will get to where it wants to be.

Im back!

Took me a while, with my travels and crappy weather I finally got the VSS to the ECU. ?Took me forever because I am using the VSS from the GoWesty CC kit. ?While I had the dash apart I did a ton of work in there and ran the cables back to the engine bay. ?I did what I said and ran the 12V signal to a relay, one side the VSS the other side GND. ?Then the other side of the relay I spliced into 5V from the MAF cable and ran the output of the relay to the VSS in on the ECU that's on the wiring harness from AutoVentures. ?

So, I reset the codes, started at 1200, down to 800. ?Drove for about 5 minutes stop and go, no issues, then another 5 but the idle was high, about 1800 and kept creeping up when it got to 3000 it started blowing blue smoke and I shut her down.?

Got on the reader, there was a code for no VSS, odd, I just hooked that up. ?Reset, restart, started up 1200, went down to 750, drove for about 5 mins no prob then the idle was higher, bout 1800 again. ?Stopped, checked reader, no codes! ?Reset again and restarted, 1200 to 750 as usual. ?Drove home, about 5 minutes with no issues till my road. ?Idle was high but not that high, bout 1200. ?Pulled into driveway. ?Stopped and checked reader, had a 1143 code. ?Reset and restarted at 1200-750 as normal. ?Had to quit for the day. ?I read somewhere on here that this is kinda normal for startup with the VSS? ?That the ECU must learn? ?
