Please. I beg you. Please never even think about it ever again! At the moment YOU are the H/HR referenz all over the world. You update fast and the quality of your storys is remarkable (better than the original). There are enough good authors who do H/G, H/T, H/Bella, H/Cissa, H/Multi. Please! I BEG YOU!

Harrison sounds good. It's easy to imagine an American wizard (perhaps someone like
ooh... a historical figure like Frederick Douglass) putting the hurt on a Malfoy.

Stirling also sounds intriguing. What if Grindelwald was a Draka citizen?

On Sunrise:

I'm sincerely sorry if this has been addressed before, but I'm rather
avidly curious when the first chapter of Sunrise comes out or
something to that effect? I know you guys are in the process of
writing it and I was wondering if there's a timeframe swirling in your
heads or something to that matter.

Secondly, would you be adverse to me printing these pages out,
possibly attaching some sort of a binding (okay, staples) and giving
it as a Christmas present? Would you want payment? Can I donate anyway?

And finally, have you found a beta/are you looking for one/I read
around and got lost...I'd be willing to do grammar-checks and whatnot
- I noticed some minor apostrophe mistakes at whatnot near the ending
chapters...something about "Hermione's eye's" which shouldn't have
been the case. I could get your 30-page chapters back to you in half a
day at the most, with grammar checking and plot comments, if you would
like.

Then again, I could just be dying to read the story before everyone
else. But that's a beta's perogative, no?

Wow, at last I think I will be able to Finish Sunset Over Britain

Hi, my name is Annie and I am a Grandma and a Harry Potter Fan!

About a month and a half ago I began to read Sunset Over Britain and got "hooked" with the story. I had a very good time and enjoyed reading "out of the box" for once. However, ever since the Mature rating control thingy came into effect I have not been able to finish the story.

I am not computer savvy and I know just enough to find my way around the essentials but there is something going on with the cookies and my computer that will just not let me log into the story.

Is there any way I can have someone copy & paste the last three chapters and e-mail them to me?

I am dying to know what happened1 It's so frustrating and annoying not being able to do this without bothering other people.

Re: Parallels and proof-reading

Dear Alyx and Bob,
I beta for Neil of Hogwarts Exposed (punctuation and typos only, not
content) and full editing for Katie on Portkey, I never take more than
2 days to return a chapter, and would be happy to preview anything for
you that you would like. Some one you might want to draft would be
Fenriswolf - the 1st thing that I noticed about his work was that
there were never ANY errors in it.

Thanks so much for sharing anyway - the relatively tiny number of
errors is a very small price to pay for excellent stories delivered
every week or so.
Warmest Regards

However (yep, there's that word again), we've talked to several people
about reading our chapters before we post them, but have been unable
to find anyone who can work in our time frame. Because our chapters
are large, we've been told that the wait would be two weeks (shortest)
to a full month (longest) for the chapter to be finished and sent back.

It seems most folks are busier than we are and actually have lives
away from their keyboards. How dare they! :D

We'll try to be more careful in editing. That's the best we can do,
unless you know someone who can beta a chapter for us in a day or
two :o)

As for the Brit-picking? We're Americans, but we do our best not
'Americanize" the HP Universe. We've asked a few Brits for help with
locations and such in SoB, but we're not going to delay a chapter
because we need a Brit to read it over first. So far, our British
readers have been a most forgiving lot, for which we are thankful.

While Bob and I are glad to get any and all reviews (both negative and
positive), the main reason we write is to please ourselves. We enjoy
the process of building a story. If we can give a few people a couple
of hours of enjoyment along the way, we're happy to do so.

However... (somehow, there's always a "however," isn't there? ;-)) on

editing. From what you write, here and elsewhere, I presume that you
beta-read "internally" -- that is, between the two authors, you check
what's been written yourself -- which is fine, and I would not say
that the results of working that way are any less effective than
those of something like Tim's Beta Horde. The problem is, as I see it
(and you may not), that somewhere, an awful lot of typos and syntax
errors go un-noticed ("your" for "you're", for instance), and you
REALLY need a Brit-picker; "Parallels" is _full_ of Americanisms, and
I don't mean something like the root beer, which is explained
perfectly in the context of the story (and you can buy it here,
anyway). More like the continual references to graduation, to give an
example.

So... wonderful story, but annoying to read more than once because of
these small niggles. I wish I could suggest an easy fix, but I can't.
And I hope that you will take this in the constructive sense that I
mean it; the one problem that a lot of stories on ffa have is the
need for an editor/proof-reader rather than a beta and, regrettably,
this is one of them. FWIW, so is "Hope," so you're in good company.

Freedom Fries were formally called french fries. The morons running
our country, idiots that they are, decided one day that they didn't
like what france was doing, and in a fit if rage, they renamed a
national food from french fries to freedom fries. Of course this
immediately shocked the french into behaving. NOT! :D

The really shocking thing was the people re-elected these clowns and
only now are beginning to regret it. Ah well this isn't a politics

As I recall, it was only a couple of knuckle-dragging yahoos with an
unfortunately large amount of media access that tried to start the
whole
'Freedom Fries' thing, but even at our most fervently jingoistic

the majority of people thought it was pretty silly, not to mention
something
of a non sequitur; why try and lambaste a country for exercising its
own
freedom of belief by coming up with something that, technically, is a
compliment? After all, if you're going to change the name from
French Fries

Freedom?

Or a Potter/Conquistador crossover - the gate between our world and its

Or maybe going back to the classic Cities in Flight - Hogwart's and

searching for freedom and another place they can call home.

Hmm, plot bunny generator in motion...

Harry Potter/Peshawar Lancers crossover. In October 1878 a series of
cometary impacts devestate Europe and North America. Durmstrang and
Beuxbatons take direct hits and the largest strike, in the mid-
atlantic, causes a tsumani that destroys the eastern seaboard of north
america and much of the atlantic coasts of europe.

As the muggle authorities struggle to survive in the face of what is
predicted to be as many as five years of negligible harvests in the
temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, the Wizarding World is
almost equally devestated - and the fate of that world will rest upon
the shoulders of one young wizard: eighteen-year-old Albus Dumbledore.

Parallels - review

An interesting AU story there. I've seen the various components in various forms in other stories (Evil!Ron, Bitch!Ginny and Introvert!Hermione are fairly common themes in AU H/Hr stories). Howeever, you have given this story your own usual touch and flare.

I particularly liked the slant you gave your Bad Ginny's personality. Too often, AU Bitch!Ginny characters are little more than one-dimensional sluts. You managed to create a believable Slytherin version of the character with the requisite ambition and cunning for that house. The AU Ron is still a red-headed Crabbe/Goyle-style thug, though.

What I found interesting was that you made this a subtly different society too, with far more ingrained Blood Supremicist attitudes that have affected even the Weasleys. Congratulations for not making Arther and Molly too harsh though. It seems that Ron and Ginny's choices were their own, not a result of childhood programming, as with Draco Malfoy.

A nice little concept. I look forward to seeing more from you.
